Engines

Footloose has the original Volvo MD-22P engines with 58hp. Both engine panels were replaced by the previous owners with their hour meters. The previous owner stated that the hours were at 2500 hours when the panels were replaced. Currently the hour meters show less than 1300 hours. Therefore about 4000 hours each.

The engines have had regular oil and filter changes. The injectors, Racor Fuel filters and heat exchangers were serviced in 2021 by Mechanicos de la Costa in Cartagena, Colombia. The exhaust elbows were replaced in 2018.

Sail Drives

The starboard side has the Volvo 130 sail drive which is a replacement after hitting a log. The port side has the original 120 sail drive.

Both drives have been serviced at each haul out with new seals and an oil change. There is no history of water incursion into the drive leg with the current owner.

Both Hull gaskets were replaced in 2018.

New Flexofold props were fitted in 2017.

Rig

Footloose has all stainless rigging new in 2014. A new Harken Unit 4 furler was installed at that time. The mast is carbon and was repainted in 2014. Running rigging has been replaced as necessary. Halyards are in spectra core. Sheets and Reef lines are polyester double braid.

Sails

The main and genoa are new in 2016. The sails were designed and built by Doyle sails with a tri-radial design in Hydranet fabric. There is an Asymmetric spinnaker also by Doyle lightly used from 2016 and an older symmetric spinnaker original to the boat. Both are equipped with their own snuffer in custom bags that can be clipped to the trampoline. An older gennaker is on the aluminum bowsprit with a Facnor furler.

120 Volt A/C system

The boat has 30 amp shore power service and a 5kw Northern Lights Gen set. This is a 110 volt boat. The boat has a Mastervolt CombiMaster 12V/3000W-160A 120V inverter charger. For European ports there is a 220 Volt charger in the starboard engine room that has never been used by the current owner; therefore it is not known if this charger works. There are a few 220 Volt outlets throughout the boat.

There are isolation transformers under the master berth for both 220V and 120 volt service.

There is a transfer relay to protect the generator from accidental connection to shore power.

12 Volt D/C system

The boat is all 12volt DC. 800 watts of standard polycrystalline panels are installed on the bimini. Each side has its own Mastervolt MPPT controller, to compensate for boom shading. The master volt system includes interfaces to allow convenient monitoring and adjustment of charge profiles and state of charge. Batteries are from 2014 800 Amp Hours of Lithium in 2 400 ah banks. Each bank can be completely isolated. The BMS is from Manzanita Micro and is interfaced using the boats built in industrial computer system.

There are gigavac isolation relays for each bank.

The engines are equipped with Balmar 65 amp alternators with programmable voltage regulators and the balmar centerfielder that synchronizes the two alternators.

Air conditioning

The boat is equipped with two 16,000 BTU Dometic units in the Saloon area. New in 2016

Refrigeration

The refrigerator is 200 liters top loading and the freezer is 100 liters front loading.

Both units are frigoboat with new compressors and evaporator plates in 2016. The system is passive seawater cooled without seawater pumps keeping hot air out of the cabin. Both units are heavily insulated.

Watermakers

The boat is equipped with TWO spectra Catalina 400 water makers located in each engine room. The clark pumps were rebuilt in 2016 and new membranes were installed. The two units share a single Z ion unit which provides a back wash with metallic ions that eliminates the need to pickle the unit for storage periods less than one month. (In a marina when we are not using the watermakers we typically backwash every 2 weeks). Both units were rewired with larger capacity wire to improve efficiency. We easily make over 20 gals per hour using solar power.

Stbd Engine room with Watermaker and Hookah

Hookah System

The boat is equipped with a hookah system. Equipped for 2 divers with 100 ft hoses. Useful for servicing the bottom of the boat at anchor. This is permanently wired to the boats 12 volt system. And mounted in the starboard engine room.

Septic system

There are two 25 gallon black water tanks new in 2014. All hoses were replaced with high quality Trident Sanitation Hose or schedule 40 PVC for the longer runs (never permeates). The heads are both Vacuflush with freshwater flushing.

Tankage

There are two 100 gallon water tanks and two 100 gallon diesel fuel tanks.

An additional water line was added that allows the port water tank to be reserved for drinking water at the galley sink. In the event that dock water is of suspicious quality, the owner can isolate the port tank with made water for drinking and cooking only and use the starboard tank for showers, handwashing and flushing.

Hot water heaters

There are two hot water heaters replaced in 2021

Anchoring

There is 300 feet of stainless chain and a Rocna Vulcan in Stainless steel 40 kg. The anchor windlass was replaced in 2016. There are both wired and wireless controls for the windlass.

Your team delivered on every mark. You’ve got an amazing broker in Mark Wattrus and I’m confident you will have continued success moving forward together. He was available 24/7 whenever I had questions. We had a great initial visit on the boat and his marketing plan and photos were superb

— Jimmy

I bought a yacht that I had never seen. I did this because I trusted my broker Andrew Holland. It was not an easy job for Andrew, as I am an experienced boat builder and owner of previous yachts, but work in West Africa. Imagine how hard it was to communicate what I was looking for. Andrew came up with exactly what I wanted. He dealt with time delays, all my questions at odd hours, and was there for the survey. He reported honestly and professionally. After buying the yacht, I arrived at the boat on a Sunday night, after dark, after travelling from West Africa to the Caribbean, and found it was better than expected. He never pulled punches and made me aware of shortfalls. I expected to spend my one month leave working on the boat, but actually spent less than one week, and was able to spend 3 weeks sailing – wonderful bonus.

Thank you Andrew for putting up with all my questions, all my worries and all my crazy out of the time zone concerns – you were totally professional, but also I know that if and when we meet up, it will be like a friend finally meeting. You are always welcome on Aseka.

Outstanding company with professional subject matter experts. If I were to buy or sell cruising sailboat, particularly a catamaran, Andrew would be my go to broker.

— JT

I have been sailing since I was a child and attended Massachusetts Maritime Academy. But when my wife and I began the process of purchasing an ocean cruising/racing catamaran, I realized that this is a world unto itself. Obviously, we needed to find someone knowledgeable to help us make an informed decision. More importantly, we needed someone honest and willing to put our interests before his or her own. I was lucky to work with Phil Berman at The Multihull Company. He repeatedly shunned the fast buck, choosing instead to work the long road to connect us with the “perfect boat”. I would be glad to recommend Phil and his company to anyone planning to purchase or sell a performance sailing machine.

— Eric Boutiette

Andrew Hodgdon was our broker when we bought our 2018 Lagoon 450F in Antigua in April 2922. He provided great service and was very attentive to our needs. We would highly recommend Andrew and the Multihull Company.
