About

Not all Catana 471s are created equal!!

AMAZING is a Catana 47 OCEAN CLASS version of this legendary model with an owner (3 cabin) layout.

The Catana yard built a variety of versions from the molds of the legendary 471. There was the original 471 built from 1997, then the 472 (a luxurious improvement of the 471), the Catana 47 Ocean Class (OC) starting in 2003 and finally the Catana 471/47 OC NEOs [New equipment and Options] which were factory refitted versions of the boats built originally for the bare-boat charter trade. Not all of these versions offered the same level of equipment, interior finish and options.

The Catana 47 OC stands above all of these iterations by the quality of its finishes and number of options included as standard. The model was introduced in 2003 as a luxurious cat that offered only premium equipment at a fixed price with no options available. All Catana 47 OCs were equipped with:

  • Carbon mast
  • American cherry interior veneer finishes
  • Corian counter-tops in the galley and bathrooms
  • rigid bimini top
  • premium sails...

Today, this particular version has aged with quality and class unlike its other Catana 471 peers. The American cherry interior stands out as the signature feature that confers the interior timeless elegance and warmth. Have a look at the photos in the attached listing.

The carbon mast is the centerpiece of the performance rig. New (2024) laminate mainsail and genoa complement the high performance equipment.

AMAZING has completed a significant refit in the last six months that included everything from a new generator, new electronics to new porthole seals and bathroom faucets. The boat has just completed a 1000 mile upwind sail from Belize to Saint Martin. There is no better test for a rig, sails, engines and impermeability of salon windows, portholes and deck fittings. She is ready for further adventures.

Other highlights include:

  • new port engine
  • new generator 4.5 KVA
  • new main and genoa
  • new bottom paint and sail-drive seals
  • recent RIB dinghy and outboard
  • 1800 Watts of solar
  • Lithium service batteries; 780 Ah
  • Spectra watermaker

We take pride in our happy customers

A sale well handled. No inflated expectations and an honest opinion throughout. Highly recommended.

Absolutely THE ONLY company to use for buying or selling a catamaran! Our Broker Andrew Hodgdon, was excellent to work with, an experienced catamaran captain with extensive knowledge of sailing catamarans, the ins and outs of the construction, performance, systems, everything involved and life on board catamarans. All of which is invaluable in looking for the right boat for someone to buy or helping market your boat when selling. The Multihull Company is so connected in the catamaran world and used by so many catamaran sailors and searchers that we had an interested buyer before our boat was even listed and a completed sale 60 days after her first showing!!! Thanks Andrew and all of the Multihull team who worked diligently to make it happen so smoothly!

— Linda W.

We had a great experience working with Andrew! He was extremely knowledgeable and listened to our needs of what we wanted our next boat to be. He responded quickly to all of our requests and got us to the finish line. Working with Multihull was seamless and we highly recommend using Andrew and Multihull.

— Alyson Nance

Chris Block was our broker. He was great. He went above and beyond what we thought we needed. His expertise helped us get our dream boat for way less than expected. I will use TMC and Chris Block in the future. Definitely recommend.

— Austin Smith

Chris Rundlett in Grenada was my buyers broker for a catamaran I purchased in Tortola.
The buying process was problematic with numerous mechanical issues needing attention. Throughout the process he was fantastic. I would highly recommend him if you’re looking to buy a boat in the Caribbean.
