Kaya | 2021 Lagoon 42

Fuerte Sherman, PA

About

Kaya is a blue-water cruiser that is completely turn-key and ready for its next journey. Originally purchased new in France, she was sailed around the Mediterranean before crossing the Atlantic to the Caribbean. Throughout her voyage, she has been exclusively operated by her owners, an experienced sailing couple. Sadly, they can no longer continue due to health reasons. She is a highly desirable 3-cabin owners version, meticulously equipped for long-term cruising. Kaya has recently been hauled out and is currently docked at Shelter Bay Marina, awaiting her next adventure.

Accommodations and Layout

The interior space showcases Lagoon's signature open, brightly lit living spaces detailed with Alpi Walnut woodwork, upgraded comfort options, and Marble interior upholstery fabrics. The layout incorporates 3 cabins and 3 heads. The entire starboard side is dedicated to a spacious owner's suite featuring a queen berth, an independent desk or vanity station, an attached head with a separate shower stall, and plenty of built-in storage. The port side contains two separate guest cabins, each featuring a private en-suite head. Onboard ventilation and comfort are supported by seven individual fans placed across the main salon and sleeping quarters, under-bed slats, leather storage organizers, and accent LED strip lighting along the ceilings.

Galley and Domestic Equipment

The practical U-shaped kitchen area joins the internal salon to the outdoor cockpit through a wide sliding glass entryway. Refrigeration gear includes a 120-liter front-loading interior refrigerator, a 100-liter VitriFrigo top-opening freezer, and an extra drawer-style fridge out in the cockpit. Cooking arrangements feature a stainless steel three-burner LPG cooktop and oven combo, a separate single induction hot plate, and a Whirlpool convection microwave and grill built into dedicated cabinetry. Laundry tasks are handled by a 7-kilogram Samsung washer and dryer. Additional equipment includes an eight-piece Corelle dish set, stainless steel WMF flatware, assorted cookware, a specialty mattress topper, and an HP DeskJet printer. Built-in storage includes dual sub-floor compartments in the salon, upper cabinetry on both sides, and a quick-access garbage bin built under the sink. Rolling curtains cover the salon windows and main entryway.

Rigging and Sails

The mast and rig are stepped more centrally on the cabin top to optimize performance, tracking, and handling while minimizing forward pitching. The main sail is an Incidence Dacron square-top design paired with an Incidence stack pack and lazy jack system. Foresails include a self-tacking jib and an Incidence Code 0 sail. For downwind legs, a brand new and unused 1,615 square foot Precision symmetrical spinnaker is included. Winches consist of two electric Harken models positioned at the helm station along with two standard Harken winches located in the cockpit.

Electronics and Navigation

The navigation station features B&G Zeus 12-inch multifunction displays mounted at both the outdoor helm and the interior nav desk. Communication gear includes a third-generation Starlink system, a portable IridiumGo satellite tracker, a B&G V60 VHF base station, and a wireless B&G H60 remote handset. Safety and tracking electronics feature a B&G 4G radar dome, a class B B&G AIS 500 transceiver, an automated B&G autopilot system, and a Fusion Bluetooth sound system wired to a pair of indoor speakers and two waterproof exterior speakers.

Deck, Cockpit, and Ground Tackle

The aft cockpit functions as an extension of the interior salon, creating a flush living terrace complete with an eight-person teak dining table and matching protective cover. The area can be fully enclosed using clear winter plastic panels or filtered summer sunshades. The primary anchoring system features a 33-kilogram Rocna anchor connected to an electric windlass with 246 feet of galvanized chain. A secondary setup includes a standard Delta anchor with 98 feet of chain alongside an extra weighted line. The tender package includes an 11-foot 2-inch Highfield CL 340 rigid inflatable boat paired with a 20-horsepower Honda outboard motor, managed by an electric davit lift system and an anchor buddy attachment. High-capacity solar panels are mounted over the dinghy on a custom stainless steel arch structure that acts as a weather awning. Extra deck features include a composite bimini top with integrated steps and wind deflectors, a transom swimming ladder, a hot and cold stern shower, a shore water intake port, an active deck wash pump, bow pulpits with wood seats, an outboard motor storage bracket, two rod holders with deep-sea fishing gear, ten straight fenders, two spherical fenders, four dock lines, and two 98-foot stern lines. Fresh bottom paint was applied in mid-2024.

Electrical System

The house battery bank is composed of six 100-amp-hour Victron lithium batteries installed in mid-2024, supported by two 140-amp AGM engine starting batteries. Solar charging is handled by five 330-watt LG panels managed by twin Victron MPPT charge controllers. AC power inversion is supplied by a 3000-watt Victron MultiPlus inverter/charger unit, with an identical backup 3000-watt Victron inverter kept on board for total electrical redundancy. Four separate USB charging outlets are distributed throughout the cabins.

Safety Equipment

Safety items include an eight-person SeaSafe life raft, a SmartFind G8 AIS-equipped EPIRB beacon, eight self-inflating Plastimo life jackets with built-in harness lines and personal locator beacons, deck-mounted safety jackstays, five portable fire extinguishers, a fire blanket, and an emergency hull plug kit.

Additional Information

All machinery has been professionally maintained with annual service intervals logged in an official Yanmar maintenance booklet alongside all original equipment manuals. The vessel is currently documented under the New Zealand shipping registry.

We take pride in our happy customers

I recently sold my Lagoon 450 with the Multihull Team. I would highly recommend their services. The professionalism and personal treatment I received was greatly appreciated.

Great Service, Great People
Helped me through the process.
I would go through them again in a future purchase.

— David Anderson

The Multihull Company made the process of buying our boat easy and predictable. Both our agent (Francisco Montaner) and Andrew Holland communicated well and educated/informed us of each step in the process. I highly recommend The Multihull Company for those shopping for a catamaran!

— Jeffrey Bredeson

Chuck at The Multihull Company is the real deal.
He helped us find our Lagoon 40 after genuinely listening to what we needed, not just what he had to sell. He let us visit the boat multiple times, answered every question honestly, and helped us make a confident decision on a major purchase.
What impressed us most was the post-sale support. Once the paperwork was signed, Chuck was still picking up the phone, offering referrals, and helping us work through the early stages of liveaboard life. That kind of follow-through is rare.
If you are looking for a multihull and want someone who knows the boats and actually cares about the outcome, Chuck is the person to call.

— Richard Chandler

We just purchased a 2025 Nautitech 44 Open with The Multihull Company. The process of getting here has been great, and we could not have asked for a better agent. We worked with Conor, whom we met at the 2025 Cannes Boat Show. We started our search for a cruising catamaran in Florida at the beginning of the year. We spent a couple of months looking at different boats/models within our price range and quickly narrowed it down to what really mattered to us, in part thanks to the wealth of knowledge and expertise our broker provided. When we found a perfect match in Montenegro, Conor and The Multihull Company did not hesitate to continue supporting us and to lead the efforts from start to finish with great care and transparency. Communication and support have been outstanding throughout this entire process. Conor, in particular, showed great compassion and care, going above and beyond to ensure that no stone was left unturned and that we would be able to safely and happily sail off into our big adventure.
