About

SV Annie - 2010 Fountaine Pajot Orana 44 “Maestro version”

It is for us a pleasure to represent what the owner genuinely believes is "now a much better boat than when we bought her." After three years of meticulous upgrades and two successful Pacific crossings to Fiji, Annie represents exceptional value for the discerning cruiser.

The Owner's Passion Project

Since purchasing Annie in November 2022, her current owner has systematically transformed her into a premium blue water cruiser. His philosophy has been simple: invest in quality upgrades that enhance both safety and comfort. With only 10 hours on the comprehensively reconditioned engines, he's confident they're "good for at least 3,000 hours."

The complete engines rebuild in July 2025 tells the story perfectly – while the port engine was internally sound (requiring new cushion plates, heat exchanger, and seals), the starboard engine received the full treatment: rebore, new pistons, rings, and head plane. This attention to detail characterises every aspect of the owner's approach.

A Complete Sail Wardrobe

The owner has equipped Annie with all new sails since 2022: mainsail (2023), genoa, spinnaker, Code Zero, and storm jib. Having sailed extensively in Pacific conditions, he understands that reliable sails are non-negotiable for serious offshore cruising.

Systems Upgraded Throughout

What impresses me most is the systematic approach to upgrades:

- New Victron AGM house batteries (880Ah, 2024) with fresh starting batteries

- Updated solar system with smart controllers and app monitoring

- Rudder bearings replaced and quadrants reconditioned (new keyways machined)

- New electric toilet (2023)

- Remote anchor control at the helm station for easy single-handed operation and reconditioned anchor windlass

- New LED lighting throughout and fresh cockpit cushion foam

- Dyneema running rigging where required – a quality choice for longevity

- New plastic fuel tanks as the old aluminium ones were corroded

Proven Pacific Performance

The owner's two successful Fiji voyages demonstrate Annie's blue water credentials. At 8 knots cruise speed on both engines or 6.5 knots on one, she's economical yet capable. The 400L fuel capacity combined with efficient Volvo D2-40s means excellent range.

The owners' version layout provides genuine comfort with three spacious double cabins and 1.85-1.95m headroom throughout – important for taller crew members (the owner himself is 1.90m and confirms there's never any feeling of being cramped).

Safety Without Compromise

The owner upgraded Annie to Cat 1 standard in May 2025 with a new 6-person liferaft and fresh safety equipment including dan buoy.

Self-Sufficient Cruising

The Aqua Base watermaker (180L/hr) and 825W solar array with 9.5KVA Onan generator mean unlimited anchoring. The owner's thoughtful additions like the espresso machine and Bosch washing machine show his understanding of long-term liveaboard comfort.

Honest Assessment

As brokers at 36 degrees brokers, we appreciate the owner's transparency about Annie's condition. There are small cosmetic blisters above the waterline that two independent boatbuilders have confirmed are purely superficial with no structural concerns. The air conditioning system needs servicing before use, and while the watermaker works perfectly, routine service is due (which will be completed before handover).

Ready for New Owners

The owner's decision to sell hasn't been easy - Annie has clearly been more than just a boat to him. His systematic approach to maintenance and upgrades means the next owners will inherit a vessel that's been thoughtfully prepared for extended cruising.

Currently on her swing mooring at Whangateau Harbour (Registration NZ2363, NZ Taxes paid), Annie represents a rare opportunity to acquire a comprehensively upgraded blue water catamaran without the years of work typically required.

We take pride in our happy customers

I cannot speak too highly of Andrew Hodgdon and his colleagues at the Multihull Company.

The process of selling my boat was very smooth and well managed and with excellent communication – especially important as I was unable to be nearby during the sale process. Andrew’s deep knowledge of the market and my boat was very reassuring. We spoke regularly and he kept me closely advised all the way through to a happy sale. I found him a good guy, very helpful, willing to share and bounce ideas around, and I enjoyed working with him. Highly recommended!

— Allan Morrison

Andrew Hodgdon and The Multihull Company are really professional! I just closed a deal with them, and everything was pretty smooth. Andrew was punctual, showed a lot of expertise, and he was honest about all the problems with the boat. He is also giving me the support I need to run all the projects on this boat. This whole process was much better than I was expecting, and I recommend this team! Thank you, Andrew.

— Gustavo Machado

The multihull company, specifically Andrew Hodgson worked with me in the sale of Gods Grace, a 50’ Voyage 500. They made sure that as many people as possible touched it, laid hands on it, ultimately resulting in a offer and sale and was extremely helpful in the prep and sale process as I did not live locally… If you want to make sure that people actually see your vessel, will be honest and truly assist you in the sale, Andrew is the man for the job.

— Neal Monacelli

Andrew Hodgdon always goes above and beyond. After several transactions I wouldn’t work with anyone else in the industry.

— David Pignolet

Andrew at the Multihull Company was our buyer’s broker and he was excellent to work with. He thoroughly explained the purchase process, and helped with many questions along the way. We would definitely use Andrew and Multihull again to buy and sell catamarans and yachts.
