Autopilot System

This vessel comes with a Raymarine Autohelm Autopilot as the main autopilot. And – as a backup – she is additional equipped with a wind vane steering system, “Pacific” brand. This Pacific system works well and self-sufficient in downwind conditions, and for all wind directions the provided Raymarine ST 2000+ tiller pilot can be connected to the Pacific. This is not common on catamarans, but it works well on this vessel with her smooth-running hydraulic steering, where the individual rudders can be separated from the hydraulic by using two-way valves.

Hull Construction

The hull construction is designed and engineered for bluewater cruising. The topsides feature a stronger outer laminate to ensure greater impact resistance. The keels and lower hull sections are additionally reinforced to enable dry-running and to support the weight of the boat.

This makes the hull stronger than usual. The keels are sealed for buoyancy. The Broadblue 435 boasts exceptional torsional rigidity.

It also has two watertight buoyancy chambers, fore and aft, which provide buoyancy in the event of a leak, making sinking virtually impossible. The rudders are protected from damage while underway by strong skegs laminated to the hull, and the saildrives are also secured in the event of a dry-run.

Due to the keel, hull, and sail plan design, the boat can sail up to 30 close-hauled, which is unusual for a catamaran
