Leopard 40 Owners Version – 2016 | Excellent Condition | Privately Owned

This 2016 Leopard 40 Owners Version is a beautifully presented, privately owned catamaran in excellent condition. She has been well maintained, with full service history, recent upgrades, and all systems in good working order.

The Leopard 40 is renowned for its exceptionally comfortable living space, with both forward and aft cockpits flowing naturally from the open-plan saloon and galley. This creates a unique indoor-outdoor living arrangement rarely found on catamarans of this size. The aft cockpit sliding doors open completely, effectively merging the saloon and cockpit into one large, sociable living area.

This is the desirable three-cabin owners version. The starboard hull is dedicated to the owner, with a queen island bed, large private bathroom with separate shower, office space, and a sliding door to create a fully private suite. The port hull offers two double cabins with a shared bathroom, making the layout ideal for family cruising or comfortable guest accommodation.

The boat is fully equipped for comfort, including air conditioning throughout, a 6kW generator with low hours, large fridge and freezer, Corian work surfaces, full household equipment, electric toilets, TV, music system, and a drop-down cockpit table that creates an additional lounging area. She is clean, well presented, and ready to enjoy.

Under sail, the Leopard 40 is practical and easy to manage. The semi-flybridge helm allows the boat to be piloted without leaving the cockpit, and all lines lead back to a set of clutches on the coach roof. An electric winch simplifies manoeuvres, while the Raymarine 70 series navigation package includes plotter, autopilot, wind, depth, and VHF. The cockpit and helm station are protected by hardtop biminis, with a viewing panel for easy mainsail trimming.

The full-batten mainsail and furling genoa were replaced in 2019 and have seen limited use since, due to the Covid period in 2020–2021 and only occasional use by the last two owners. The boat has benefited from continued maintenance and upgrades, including antifouling in July 2025, full engine service in 2025, diaphragm joints changed, new batteries in 2022, new anchor chain in 2023, and a good semi-rigid dinghy with 15HP outboard new in 2024. The dinghy is easily handled on electric davits, and the charging system includes solar panels.

This Leopard 40 is a lovely example of this popular model: light, spacious, comfortable, well equipped, and carefully maintained. With her owners version layout, full comfort specification, and strong maintenance record, she is an excellent choice for a couple or family wishing to cruise French Polynesia or venture further afield.

Manufacturer Provided Description

Leopard Catamarans excitedly announces the new Leopard 40. This innovative and performance driven Leopard 40 is sure to excite anyone interested in a new catamaran in the 40 ft range.

The Leopard 40, like other Leopard models before her, is a product of South African boat builders Robertson and Caine and includes a unique, modern design thanks to experienced naval architects Simonis and Voogd as well as Robertson and Caine’s design team. She resembles her predecessors in speed, agility, and blue-water performance, but her enhancements include an increased volume in the hulls and a design consistent with the rest of the Leopard range currently in production.

The Leopard 40’s interior design is unlike any Leopard before her. Her galley is located forward and the forward-facing settee and table are now located aft. This allows for a panoramic view with large sliding glass doors between the saloon and the aft cockpit. This arrangement promotes easy communication for guests and an open flow between the saloon and the aft cockpit, and a fusion of indoor and outdoor living space. In addition, the galley area includes a large forward-facing window and an access door to the forward platform of the boat. The access door enhances the open concept feel and easy navigation in and around the yacht. It also promotes ventilation throughout the interior.

Like the rest of the Leopard line, the new Leopard 40 includes a light blonde interior with a light, modern and airy feel.

The Multihull Company made the process of buying our boat easy and predictable. Both our agent (Francisco Montaner) and Andrew Holland communicated well and educated/informed us of each step in the process. I highly recommend The Multihull Company for those shopping for a catamaran!

— Jeffrey Bredeson

Chuck at The Multihull Company is the real deal.
He helped us find our Lagoon 40 after genuinely listening to what we needed, not just what he had to sell. He let us visit the boat multiple times, answered every question honestly, and helped us make a confident decision on a major purchase.
What impressed us most was the post-sale support. Once the paperwork was signed, Chuck was still picking up the phone, offering referrals, and helping us work through the early stages of liveaboard life. That kind of follow-through is rare.
If you are looking for a multihull and want someone who knows the boats and actually cares about the outcome, Chuck is the person to call.

We just purchased a 2025 Nautitech 44 Open with The Multihull Company. The process of getting here has been great, and we could not have asked for a better agent. We worked with Conor, whom we met at the 2025 Cannes Boat Show. We started our search for a cruising catamaran in Florida at the beginning of the year. We spent a couple of months looking at different boats/models within our price range and quickly narrowed it down to what really mattered to us, in part thanks to the wealth of knowledge and expertise our broker provided. When we found a perfect match in Montenegro, Conor and The Multihull Company did not hesitate to continue supporting us and to lead the efforts from start to finish with great care and transparency. Communication and support have been outstanding throughout this entire process. Conor, in particular, showed great compassion and care, going above and beyond to ensure that no stone was left unturned and that we would be able to safely and happily sail off into our big adventure.
