About

IIlliohale represents a very rare opportunity in the Pacific to secure a fully set-up, blue-water Lagoon 450S. This desirable 2016 Owner’s Version was purchased in 2021 from fellow cruisers in the San Fransisco bay area and has been well loved, and extensively cruised, presenting as a proven and capable offshore vessel.

Under its current ownership, Iliohale has benefitted from thoughtful upgrades including a watermaker, downwind sail, and liferaft. Following a year of preparation in San Diego, the vessel cruised extensively through Mexico, taking in the Sea of Cortez, the Mexican Riviera, and Zihuatanejo over two seasons. In March 2025, Iliohale crossed the Pacific to French Polynesia, continuing on to the Cook Islands, Niue, and Tonga with family and long-time friends, before arriving in New Zealand. This impressive cruising history speaks volumes about the vessel’s seaworthiness and comfort.

Renowned for its spacious layout and stability, the Lagoon 450S offers comfort for extended cruising. The sought after 3-cabin owner’s version features a full-hull owner’s suite with ample storage and a private head, showcasing the practicality of a true blue-water cruiser.

This vessel has been carefully upgraded and consistently maintained. Steering cables were replaced with 7mm Dyneema, along with key running rigging including dinghy lifting lines, lifelines, and the main halyard. A comprehensive Victron electrical system includes a Battery Management System, a new 3000W Victron inverter (2025), and 840Ah Lifeline AGM house batteries (2025). Lagoon bulkhead reinforcement works were professionally completed in 2021, with full reports and invoices available.

Recent improvements include, but are not limited to, new saildrive seals, the 40 GPH CruiseRO watermaker mentioned above, new genset start battery, updated galley appliances (Breville convection oven and GE microwave), and rebedded escape hatches with additional brackets. Maintenance is current, with antifoul, prop service, and full hull and topsides polish completed in September 2025.

Iliohale represents a turnkey example of the highly regarded Lagoon 450S, ideal for private ownership or extended cruising. The vessel is currently located in Whangarei, New Zealand. Viewings are available by appointment, please contact the broker to arrange a suitable time.

We take pride in our happy customers

I chose Zee (Zvonimir Kalinic) after posting an ad for a broker on Yacht Sales from about 15 other brokers because he showed professionalism and care right away compared to the others. Most of the brokers never intended to show people my boat but yet somehow expected to collect commission. Zee met me in Novigrad and spent 3 hours taking photos and drone footage and throughout the listing period was communicating continuously and advising me about any offers that came through. His service was at a high standard that I was extremely happy with and felt comfortable at all times especially since I’m in Sydney and my boat is in Montenegro. I can’t recommend Zee highly enough to anyone looking to sell their boat with peace of mind.

— Mark Eymes

The brokerage team has been amazing. They helped me find the right catamaran for our family of four, with enough space for extended family and friends to stay with us anytime. The broker really helped me narrow down what I needed. I started with a long list and eventually narrowed it down to something that was the right fit and price for me.

— Adam Munder

Our broker Mike Rybas was excellent – great experience!

— Chris Hannant

I cannot speak too highly of Andrew Hodgdon and his colleagues at the Multihull Company.

The process of selling my boat was very smooth and well managed and with excellent communication – especially important as I was unable to be nearby during the sale process. Andrew’s deep knowledge of the market and my boat was very reassuring. We spoke regularly and he kept me closely advised all the way through to a happy sale. I found him a good guy, very helpful, willing to share and bounce ideas around, and I enjoyed working with him. Highly recommended!

— Allan Morrison

Andrew Hodgdon and The Multihull Company are really professional! I just closed a deal with them, and everything was pretty smooth. Andrew was punctual, showed a lot of expertise, and he was honest about all the problems with the boat. He is also giving me the support I need to run all the projects on this boat. This whole process was much better than I was expecting, and I recommend this team! Thank you, Andrew.
