About

Etincelle 60 COOL CAT was built by the Tecna yard in Brazil, best known for the Dolphin catamarans. She is hull #3 of a series of 6 sisterships and was launched in 2000.

Tecna is a household name at The Multihull Company as it is the builder of the better known Dolphin 430 and Dolphin 460s. Our company sold a few dozen of the new Dolphin 430s/460s and we continue to sell them second-hand all over the world. They are known for quality of craftsmanship and outstanding sailing performance.

A carbon-epoxy construction, COOL CAT is designed and built for reliable, blue-water performance. The centerpiece of the yacht is a rotating, carbon wing mast with all textile standing rigging (standing rigging replaced in 2016), and carbon fiber Park Avenue boom. The mast was cured in an oven. The boat is equipped with recent Calvert performance sails: carbon-composite mainsail, carbon-composite, self-taking jib, a 2022 gennaker and two spinnakers.

Moving forward along the wide decks you note the carbon composite dagger-boards outboard. And ahead, the long, narrow bows and the long trampoline take your breath away. The distinguishing feature of this cat is the limited footprint of the bridge-deck in relation to the waterline length. This design is all about keeping weight down just under 20,000 pounds or 10 tons and centered. This cats very long legs and minimal deck volume give it a sea-kindly motion especially in choppy or rough seas that in turn allow high average speeds - where other boats hobby horse. The bridge deck clearance is a rare 95 centimeters (over 3 feet).

The low-profile coach-roof gives you excellent access to the boom, mainsail, lazy jacks and stack pack for stowing the main, accessing reef lines or maneuvering underway. The headroom inside the salon is 1,95 meters.

Moving back to the stern, we have a view on the extra-long sugar scoops and you will note the significant distance between the aft beam and transoms - a real design difference here with even the more modern performance cats that offer very little waterline length behind the bridge-deck. The davits hold a new 14 foot RIB dinghy with 40HP Yamaha 2 stroke outboard engine. An elegant, carbon fiber frame holds two 380 watt solar panels. For the pleasure of helming this speedster, two rear tiller steering stations are equipped with Raymarine wind instruments and autopilot repeaters.

COOL CAT is a superbly constructed, simple, performance cat with beautiful lines. It was designed to achieve 200-300 mile days over long distances and has proven reliable on numerous ocean passages over many years.

We would be delighted to show you COOL CAT in person. Always in impeccable condition, this is a cat on which all systems work and all equipment is continuously maintained. The owners sail 2,000-4,000 miles a year aboard. Do check out the attached video and give us a call to discuss.

We take pride in our happy customers

Yacht Broker Micheal Streng did a fantastic job helping us buy our dream retirement boat. He is pleasant, professional, smart, diligent, and totally focused toward ensuring the best outcome for us- his clients.

He helped us identify the key features we wanted. And, helped us then learn the market by seeing firsthand seeing all the boats available. How? By organizing a two day driving extravaganza to see as many boats available from dawn to dusk.

But, his crucial expert assistance continued throughout the whole buying process… helping us craft multiple offers and counter offers to ensure we “bought-right”!

His expertise continued with calmly helping us organize the multitude of details, from sourcing survey experts and renegotiating credits for issues… to ensuring our foreign manufactured vessel had duty paid receipts… thus all saving us much aggravation and thousands of dollars!

In closing, sourcing and buying a boat right has adventurous elements of the “wild-west”. Our Broker – Micheal Streng was our LoneRanger & Tonto… expertly guiding and helping us to help make our dream a reality.

We purchased a Lagoon 470 catamaran through Zvonimir (Zee) Kalinic, TMC’s broker in Croatia and Italy. Zee is the ultimate professional and by far the best broker we have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. Thankyou Zee for your professionalism, guidance and support in securing this purchase for our family! Not an easy task being Australian and purchasing in a foreign country but thanks to your help and the assistance of Andrew Holland in the office, this process was made so much more stress free.
Thank you Zee and The Multihull Compnay!

Just wish to share our thanks with Cal Landau and The Multihull Company for their service selling our catamaran that we owned for nearly 15yrs. Cal our broker in West Palm Beach was THE BEST!
He worked with us beyond the call of duty in helping us prep and moor our boat during some horrendous weather that came through last Winter and always offered to lend a hand while we were in West Palm procuring supplies. etc. Cal was always present to show the boat, learned about our boat systems to answer questions from shoppers and made a very informative listing with great photos and video that attracted a lot of action. I wish to highly recommend Cal and The Multihull Co if you’re planning on putting your boat on the market.

The entire company was committed to my satisfaction as a seller. Andrew the broker went out of his way to help me prepare the boat for sale and in just 3 weeks we had it under contract. I had to be away from the country but Andrew the broker and Andrew (same name) the Chief Operating Officer walked me through all the paperwork needed and kept me informed at every stage of the sale. Boat owners don’t remain without a boat for long, if this is the case for me, I will certainly contact Andrew and the Multihull Company to be my broker.
