Lagoon 440 Owners Version in Excellent, Blue Water Condition
Brizo has been actively used and cared for by knowledgeable sailors and has never been chartered. She has been updated continuously and is an active Blue Water capable boat. She is currently docked in Waterford Harbor and loaded with all of the options needed to take her next owners safely and comfortably across an ocean or to the nearest anchorage.
Her full suite of upwind and downwind sails, low hour generator and Yanmar engines, ample tankage, watermaker, solar panels, air conditioning systems and Starlink can keep you off the grid and in comfort for extended periods of time.
Brizo has been imported into the U.S. and can either be purchased outright or via the sale of the LLC that owns her, which may have tax advantages for the buyer.
For those not familiar with the 440s, they are the most successful catamaran ever built by Lagoon and have a two-decade plus track record of providing comfortable floating homes for their owners and safely completing countless ocean crossings and circumnavigations. Brizo has crossed the Atlantic three times and is ready for her next voyage.
Some brief information on her ownership history and recent maintence and upgrades below.
Brizo was constructed in 2006 in France and her original owners took possession in Kemah, Texas. She then sailed up to the Chesapeake and back across the Atlantic where she spent several years cruising the Mediterranean before coming back to the Americas. She is set up to run off American or European electrical hookups.
In 2020-2021, while in the Chesapeake, she underwent an extensive refit that included a new full set of B&G Based Electronics (12 Zeus MFD, 9 Zeus MFD, 4G Radar, Transducers, AIS, auto-pilot, Triton 5 displays, wind sensor, lights, VHF antenna), all new mast components, new gooseneck, new Precision Mainsail, new Harken Roller Fuller, new Standing Rigging, new Running Rigging, new Appliances, new liferaft, Bottom Paint, new Vanity Mirrors, new Harken Power Winch Switches, new Trampoline, new Synthetic Teak in cockpit, new Carbonotics Carbon Composite Helm Steering Wheel and much, much more.
She sailed from the Chesapeake, down the Atlantic seaboard, around the tip of Florida to the Tampa Bay area in the early 2020s. In 2022-2023, she was sailed down to Grenada on an extended cruise before returning to Western Florida. During that time, the upgrades continued with the purchase of a new RIB and outboard, the installation of an aftermarket cockpit hard top, new isinglass enclosures on at the helm and sunshades in the cockpit, new SD60 saildrives, Starlink system, new AGM house batteries and many other improvements.
Here current owners brought her from Florida to the Texas Coast in late 2023 and she has been actively used as a weekend home, daysailer, committee boat for Texas Youth Race Week, regional cruising boat and recreational racer by an active sailing couple and their two teenage kids. In the 2025 Harvest Moon Regatta, she finished first in line honors and first on corrected time in the Multihull C division and 15th overall in a fleet of 80 boats. Her Asymmetrical spinnaker and Code-Zero will get you there fast and safe in a variety of wind conditions with a range that will only be limited by the new owners ambitions. If you are looking for a floating condo that never leaves the dock, this is not the boat for you
While in Texas, the updates have continued with a freshwater head conversion (can also toggle to seawater), bottom job, 1,000 hour engine service, new stereo, hatch seal replacement, new B&G autopilot computer, navigation station multifunction display, wind indicator and regular maintence and service.
She has less than 2,500 cumulative hours on her engines and less than 4,500 cumulative hours on her generator which is a fraction of what you would expect for a boat this age. All of the controls lead to the helm and she can be singlehandedly sailed by an experienced captain or couple.

The Lagoon 440 helped shape the modern catamaran design by being the first production catamaran with a flybridge and a forward cockpit. Designed by the legendary naval architects, Marc Van Peteghem and Vincent Lauriot-Prevsost, the Lagoon 440 helped make VPLP Design firm a household name in the catamaran world. Originally launched in 2004, the Lagoon 440 was an instant success and ultimately over 400 units were built between 2004 and 2010.The original design brief was to design and build a catamaran that would work well for both private use, as well as the charter industry. The majority of the Lagoon 440’s built were the 4 cabin charter layout, which means finding a nice, non-chartered owner’s version is a bit of a challenge today.

The brokerage team has been amazing. They helped me find the right catamaran for our family of four, with enough space for extended family and friends to stay with us anytime. The broker really helped me narrow down what I needed. I started with a long list and eventually narrowed it down to something that was the right fit and price for me.
I cannot speak too highly of Andrew Hodgdon and his colleagues at the Multihull Company.
The process of selling my boat was very smooth and well managed and with excellent communication – especially important as I was unable to be nearby during the sale process. Andrew’s deep knowledge of the market and my boat was very reassuring. We spoke regularly and he kept me closely advised all the way through to a happy sale. I found him a good guy, very helpful, willing to share and bounce ideas around, and I enjoyed working with him. Highly recommended!
Andrew Hodgdon and The Multihull Company are really professional! I just closed a deal with them, and everything was pretty smooth. Andrew was punctual, showed a lot of expertise, and he was honest about all the problems with the boat. He is also giving me the support I need to run all the projects on this boat. This whole process was much better than I was expecting, and I recommend this team! Thank you, Andrew.
The multihull company, specifically Andrew Hodgson worked with me in the sale of Gods Grace, a 50’ Voyage 500. They made sure that as many people as possible touched it, laid hands on it, ultimately resulting in a offer and sale and was extremely helpful in the prep and sale process as I did not live locally… If you want to make sure that people actually see your vessel, will be honest and truly assist you in the sale, Andrew is the man for the job.
