About

New to market: 2020 Fountaine Pajot Saona 47 Maestro "Aila" in pristine condition.

The Fountaine Pajot Saona 47 is one of the most decorated performance cruising catamarans in her class, earning SAIL Magazine's Best Multihull Cruising Boat award in the 41–50 ft category when the model first launched.

S/V Aila (hull #120) is a prime example of the Saona 47, featuring an LOA of nearly 46 feet and a 25 feet of beam. She is CE Category A certified, capable of 8+ knots under sail, and built to the rigorous standards that have made Fountaine Pajot a global leader in catamaran construction. The overall layout and design are a standout on the 47, and the Maestro three-cabin configuration on Aila means the entire port hull to a private owner's suite, creating a liveaboard experience that rivals far larger vessels.

Aila is in truly immaculate condition, both cosmetically and operationally. She has been comprehensively upgraded for extended offshore or circumnavigation-level cruising from her solar panels to her watermaker. She features twin Volvo Penta diesels with about 638 hours, meticulous maintenance records, fresh bottom paint and Propspeed, plus a long list of high-end additions, including a 1,260 Ah Lithionics lithium bank, a full Garmin electronics suite, watermaker, dive compressor, and custom Code 0 sail.

This world-class vessel is duty paid and ready to sail away.

Propulsion & Handling

Twin Volvo Penta D2-60 diesel engines (60 HP each) with 638 hours provide reliable power for maneuvering and motoring passages. Both engines have been fitted with upgraded stainless steel exhaust elbows, and each is equipped with a Bosch high-output alternator regulated by Wakespeed WS500 voltage regulators, contributing meaningfully to house bank charging underway. Racor 500 series fuel pre-filters are installed on both engines and the generator. Flexifold folding propellers with dedicated line cutters help maximize sailing efficiency and protect against fouling. Rose joints have been added to the steering for enhanced long-term reliability. The fuel capacity stands at 248 gallons, supporting extended passages between ports.

Electronics & Navigation

Aila carries a comprehensive Garmin electronics package. A Garmin 8410 chartplotter is installed at both the nav station and the helm at the flybridge, paired with a GMR 18 HD+ radar for complete situational awareness. The Garmin Reactor 40 autopilot handles long passages with ease.

An AIS 800 transponder, Garmin VHF at the helm, new wind sensor, and autopilot remote round out the primary nav suite. Underwater visibility is enhanced by a Pantropix PS51-TH forward-view sonar, along with an Ultrasonic Airmar depth transducer. The helm on the flybridge is also fitted with a windlass control with chain counter.

An ACR GlobalFix V4 EPIRB and Garmin OnDeck remote monitoring system provide added safety and peace of mind whether aboard or ashore. A wifi  extender is mounted on the spreaders, and Starlink HD flat antenna is mounted atop the hard bimini.

Electrical, Power & Comfort Systems

The electrical system is built around four Lithionics LiFePO4 batteries delivering 1,260 amp-hours of house power, a significant upgrade that supports extended anchorage time without running the generator. A 3,000W Victron Multiplus inverter and 100A Victron Autotransformer provide clean, flexible power for both 110V US and European 220V shore power configurations. A Victron 100A MPPT solar controller (Bluetooth Smart) manages the 400W of factory-installed solar panels. An Orion DC/DC converter charges the house bank from the starboard engine, supplemented by the Wakespeed-regulated alternators on both engines.

The Panda Fisher 15000i 12kW generator (approx. 600 hours) provides robust shore-power-level output when needed. Shore power charging is handled by a Victron Centaur 20A generator battery charger.

Six Dometic air conditioning units with soft starts keep the entire vessel comfortable in tropical climates, and a galvanic isolator protects the hull when plugged in. Electronic fuel and water tank monitoring, additional 12V and 120V outlets throughout, and pre-installation plumbing and wiring for a 60Hz washing machine reflect the thoroughness of the electrical buildout.

An upgraded Bose sound system serves both the salon and cockpit, and a Fusion sound system is also aboard.

Accommodations Salon & Galley

The interior accommodations are configured for long-term liveaboard comfort. The owner's stateroom occupies the full port hull, featuring a walk-around queen berth with a memory foam mattress, slatted base, and 110V/USB outlets on each side. The VIP cabin also features a memory foam mattress.

All three cabins are fitted with custom blackout curtains and 12V fans. Three electric freshwater heads serve the vessel.

The open salon and galley are purpose built for comfortable entertaining whether at dock or on the hook. To port, the galley and galley island offer plenty of counter and prep space for cooking or simply enjoying some hors d'oeuvres. Further forward to port is the dedicated nav station. An L-shaped settee and coffee table occupy the forward starboard quarter. This settee and coffee table also convert into an additional berth when needed. A Samsung QLED Slim 4K TV on locking adjustable swing-out wall mount also lives in the salon with upgraded Bose speakers and cockpit sound system. The salon windows, like the cabins, are fitted with blackout blinds, plus exterior window blinds.

The galley is well-equipped for extended cruising:

  • Isotherm 190R double drawer refrigerator

  • Isotherm 90L freezer with upgraded vents

  • Built-in Isotherm clear ice icemaker

  • 3-burner propane stovetop with propane oven

  • Microwave

  • Propane shutoff solenoid with dual tanks

  • Hot and cold pressure water throughout; 110V water heater

Freshwater capacity is 185 gallons, supported by the Blue Water Desalination Explorer Modular 1800 watermaker with salon remote control.

Deck & Cockpit

The cockpit and helm area have been thoughtfully outfitted for both passage-making efficiency and outdoor living. A hard bimini with integrated skylight, red/white lighting, and Starlink HD antenna tops the helm station. Full custom isinglass enclosures surround the helm with opening front and rear windows, and custom Sunbrella exterior cushions cover the cockpit, helm, and sundeck.

Winch power at the helm includes two Lewmar Evo 55 and Evo 50 electric winches plus one Lewmar Evo 50ST.

A hydraulic dinghy/swim platform lift accommodates the Highfield CL360 hypalon tender (Yamaha 25 HP outboard). Max capacity: 440 lbs.

A Bauer Jr. dive compressor with soft start is installed in the lazarette, supporting extended diving recreation.

Headsail deployment is handled by a Profurl genoa furler, while the bowsprit is fitted with a Karver continuous furler for easy deployment of the gennaker or screecher.

Most of the running rigging was replaced in 2025.

A custom Sail Design blue-and-white Code 0 downwind sail rounds out the inventory and is in like-new condition. A new mainsail cover is on order.

Schedule your showing today!

S/V Aila represents one of the most comprehensively prepared Saona 47s we have ever seen on the pre-owned market. And very few boats at this price point offer the level of preparation and condition you will find on Aila.

With low hours, a recent haul-out, and a refit list that addresses everything from power independence to offshore safety, she is genuinely ready to depart for extended bluewater cruising or living aboard.

Currently located in Fort Pierce, Florida, Aila is available for private showing by appointment. Don't miss the opportunity to step aboard a turnkey vessel that shows almost as well as a new boat. A very rare compliment indeed.

We take pride in our happy customers

Chuck at The Multihull Company is the real deal.
He helped us find our Lagoon 40 after genuinely listening to what we needed, not just what he had to sell. He let us visit the boat multiple times, answered every question honestly, and helped us make a confident decision on a major purchase.
What impressed us most was the post-sale support. Once the paperwork was signed, Chuck was still picking up the phone, offering referrals, and helping us work through the early stages of liveaboard life. That kind of follow-through is rare.
If you are looking for a multihull and want someone who knows the boats and actually cares about the outcome, Chuck is the person to call.

— Richard Chandler

We just purchased a 2025 Nautitech 44 Open with The Multihull Company. The process of getting here has been great, and we could not have asked for a better agent. We worked with Conor, whom we met at the 2025 Cannes Boat Show. We started our search for a cruising catamaran in Florida at the beginning of the year. We spent a couple of months looking at different boats/models within our price range and quickly narrowed it down to what really mattered to us, in part thanks to the wealth of knowledge and expertise our broker provided. When we found a perfect match in Montenegro, Conor and The Multihull Company did not hesitate to continue supporting us and to lead the efforts from start to finish with great care and transparency. Communication and support have been outstanding throughout this entire process. Conor, in particular, showed great compassion and care, going above and beyond to ensure that no stone was left unturned and that we would be able to safely and happily sail off into our big adventure.

A sale well handled. No inflated expectations and an honest opinion throughout. Highly recommended.

Absolutely THE ONLY company to use for buying or selling a catamaran! Our Broker Andrew Hodgdon, was excellent to work with, an experienced catamaran captain with extensive knowledge of sailing catamarans, the ins and outs of the construction, performance, systems, everything involved and life on board catamarans. All of which is invaluable in looking for the right boat for someone to buy or helping market your boat when selling. The Multihull Company is so connected in the catamaran world and used by so many catamaran sailors and searchers that we had an interested buyer before our boat was even listed and a completed sale 60 days after her first showing!!! Thanks Andrew and all of the Multihull team who worked diligently to make it happen so smoothly!

— Linda W.

We had a great experience working with Andrew! He was extremely knowledgeable and listened to our needs of what we wanted our next boat to be. He responded quickly to all of our requests and got us to the finish line. Working with Multihull was seamless and we highly recommend using Andrew and Multihull.
