Admiral 40 Executive Catamaran
The Admiral 40 is a thoughtfully designed bluewater cruising catamaran that combines offshore capability, exceptional interior volume, and comfortable liveaboard accommodations. Designed by renowned naval architect Angelo Lavranos, the Admiral 40 evolved from the successful Admiral 38, offering wider hulls, increased headroom, improved visibility, and a spacious deck layout while maintaining the sailing performance for which Admiral catamarans are known.
Its generous 24-foot beam provides outstanding stability both underway and at anchor, making it an excellent choice for extended cruising, island hopping, or full-time liveaboard life. The large cockpit flows seamlessly into a bright, open salon with panoramic views, while the "galley-up" configuration allows the cook to remain part of the conversation inside and out. Depending on the layout, the Admiral 40 offers either a luxurious owner's version or a four-cabin arrangement suitable for family cruising or charter use.
Under sail, the Admiral 40 features a modern fractional sloop rig with a large mainsail and easily managed headsail, providing balanced performance and straightforward sail handling. Twin diesel engines deliver excellent maneuverability in tight marinas and dependable performance under power, while the shallow fixed keels allow access to cruising grounds that are off limits to many deeper-draft monohulls.
Built with solid fiberglass construction and balsa-cored composite structures where appropriate, the Admiral 40 is recognized for its robust construction, practical engineering, and quality craftsmanship.
