About
One Owner - Never Chartered - Never near a Hurricane
Kaya is a proven blue water cruiser thatβs equipped with everything you need and ready to start sailing again. The vessel was bought new in Les Sables-DβOlonne, France, sailed around the Mediterranean and then across the Atlantic to the Caribbean in January 2025. During this time, she has only been used by the owners, an experienced sailing couple. The former captain was a Β navy diver, competitive sailor, and member of the Royal Cape Yacht Club, so the vessel has been maintained and operated by someone with experience since leaving Lagoonβs factory. As proof, look at the engines' pictures. Sadly, they can no longer continue due to health reasons.
Β
Kaya is a 3-cabin ownerβs version and is equipped for long term cruising with a Code 0 and Symmetrical Spinnaker (bought new for the crossing but never used), Dessalator Watermaker, Samsung washer/dryer, B&G radar, Iridium go, EPIRB, 3.40m Highfield dinghy with 20HP Honda and more. She has recently been hauled out and is on the hard in Aruba. Please contact the listing broker to make arrangements to view her.

The interior of the 42 provides Lagoonβs trademark light, bright and contemporary design. The huge salon offers panoramic views of the exterior along with a comfortable dining area, nav station and large galley. The practical U-shaped galley extends out on either side of a large sliding glass door that conveniently opens to the cockpit. Great storage, appliances, natural ventilation and fantastic views make cooking in this galley a pleasure.
The entire starboard hull contains a luxurious ownerβs suite with a queen-sized berth, separate office/make-up area, ensuite head with separate shower and abundant storage. The port hull has two guest cabins, each with their own private head.

The cockpit of the 42 extends the interior living space by offering a large, covered terrace on the same level as the salon. Protected but airy, the cockpit simply invites you to relax. There is a large teak table that can sit eight guests. The helm is well-separated from the cockpit yet remains accessible at all times. The swim platform is only a mere couple of steps down.

Rigging and Sails
The Lagoon 42 benefits from a rig set more centrally, a formula with advantages validated by her bigger sisters. The larger foretriangle makes it possible to juggle between the big, self-tacking jib and the downwind sails. Because of the high aspect ratio of the mainsail, the size of the boom is shorter. It provides performance and manoeuvrability, while weight-centering limits pitch. From the helm, the unobstructed view and easy accessibility to all lines offers great control, even when sailing short-handed.

I chose Zee (Zvonimir Kalinic) after posting an ad for a broker on Yacht Sales from about 15 other brokers because he showed professionalism and care right away compared to the others. Most of the brokers never intended to show people my boat but yet somehow expected to collect commission. Zee met me in Novigrad and spent 3 hours taking photos and drone footage and throughout the listing period was communicating continuously and advising me about any offers that came through. His service was at a high standard that I was extremely happy with and felt comfortable at all times especially since Iβm in Sydney and my boat is in Montenegro. I canβt recommend Zee highly enough to anyone looking to sell their boat with peace of mind.
The brokerage team has been amazing. They helped me find the right catamaran for our family of four, with enough space for extended family and friends to stay with us anytime. The broker really helped me narrow down what I needed. I started with a long list and eventually narrowed it down to something that was the right fit and price for me.
I cannot speak too highly of Andrew Hodgdon and his colleagues at the Multihull Company.
The process of selling my boat was very smooth and well managed and with excellent communication β especially important as I was unable to be nearby during the sale process. Andrewβs deep knowledge of the market and my boat was very reassuring. We spoke regularly and he kept me closely advised all the way through to a happy sale. I found him a good guy, very helpful, willing to share and bounce ideas around, and I enjoyed working with him. Highly recommended!
Andrew Hodgdon and The Multihull Company are really professional! I just closed a deal with them, and everything was pretty smooth. Andrew was punctual, showed a lot of expertise, and he was honest about all the problems with the boat. He is also giving me the support I need to run all the projects on this boat. This whole process was much better than I was expecting, and I recommend this team! Thank you, Andrew.
