About
Tranquility Base is a great example of a well-cared-for 2003 PDQ 34 that’s truly been enjoyed the way these boats were meant to be.
Her owners have cruised extensively—up and down the East Coast and over to the Bahamas—and most recently brought her north to Massachusetts before an enjoyable return to Florida. The result? A boat that’s been used, loved, and thoughtfully maintained.
Inside, she’s in excellent condition. Outside, she’s been compounded and waxed, and she’s loaded with practical cruising gear, galley items, and a solid inventory of spares—making her an easy boat to step aboard and go.
Recent upgrades include:
• New aft A/C unit
• New full and flybridge accent striping
• New aft bimini with sun screen
• Brand-new Strataglass flybridge enclosure (approx. $11k value)
• Major 3000-hour Yanmar service just completed (approx. $5k value)
The PDQ 34 has earned its reputation for comfort, efficiency, and capability in a manageable package—and Tranquility Base is a strong example of why these boats continue to have such a loyal following.

Vessel Walkthrough
As you enter the vessel, you will note a large salon area, a curved seating area on your left and a lower helm on your right. You are surrounded by windows and a door that provide outstanding 360 degree visibility. The height and light of that openness that make the boat feel much larger than a 34 footer. In this area, you will find space to entertain 6 to 8; people, a table that seats six and drops down to make a queen size berth. On the port side midship is the galley containing a refrigerator/freezer, double sink, and Gourmet air fryer oven, pantry and lots of storage. Aft of that is a stateroom with queen size berth and again lots of storage area. On the starboard side midship is a changing area with lots of shelf and hanging storage. Forward is the head with Lavac manual salt water toilet, large showering area and a medicine cabinet. Aft is what is usually considerad the master stateroom with a queen berth lots cabinets, hanging storage, opening port, tan, and large opening hatch aft. Both staterooms have heat and AC.
Ascending the stairs to the flybridge, you will find a large open seating area, great far entertaining in nice weather. The Todd helm chairs are custom as well as the instrument/steering wheel cover. There are two new folding chairs. On the foredeck you will find four lockers, two are all the way forward in the hull. On the port side the generator is located in a sound insulated compartment with lots of storage forward. The starboard side is primarily far storage but also contains the black water discharge pump and the raw water wash down pump all at eye level far ease of maintenance. In between the two hull storage areas are two smaller hatches that give access to the fresh water tank and the forward fuel tank. Lots of storage is available above both tanks. In between these two lockers is the anchor chain storage area that is accessible from behind the seat in the salon.
Accommodations
The PDQ 34 provides a very open spacious design ideally suited to long distance cruising. With two queen staterooms, lots of entertaining space and unbelievable storage capacity, she has become one of the most popular power catamarans ever built. There are now 114 PDQ powercats cruising the world with over 500,000 miles under their keels. As a result, PDQ 34s have gained a reputation for being strong, reliable, fast and very comfortable.
Galley
The Galley is well laid out and uses its space very efficiently. It is located mid-ship in the port hull. The Galley is open to the Salon and Dinette area and provides good ventilation and ease in socializing with people in the Salon while performing Galley chores. Storage is remarkable with lots of cabinets and under floor storage. There are two opening ports to add ventilation.
Staterooms
Each Stateroom features a Queen Size Berth, ventilation hatches aft and opening ports, large hanging & storage lockers. The owner has also installed fans for outstanding ventilation. There is also extra under floor storage.
* New Milliard queen size, 6″ trifold memory foam mattress in each stateroom
Head & Shower
The Head is located on the Starboard Side forward. It contains convenient storage spaces, manual toilet and shower.
Electrical System
The PDQ 34 electrical system is designed for efficient live-aboard cruising. The critical components are a good reliable generator, larger house battery bank, large capacity charger / inverter and minimum reliance on shore power. Details include:
Engine & Mechanical Equipment
The MV/34 is powered by Twin 75 HP Yanmar Turbo-Charged Diesels. This provides cruise speed of 13 knots and a fuel burn of about 4.5 GPH. These engines have been very well maintained and now have 3900 hours on them. They are in excellent working order. The full service was just completed in June.
Electronics & Navigational Equipment
Tranquility Base has all the basic navigational equipment.
LOWER HELM ELECTRONICS:
Flybridge
The Flybridge from the factory is a beautiful layout. The Radar Mast and Bimini Top can easily be dropped down by one person for cruising under low structures. There are not many cruising boats that offer as comfortable a flybridge in just 34′ of LOA. Truly remarkable.
UPPER HELM ELECTRONICS
Deck Equipment
In addition to the deck equipment, this boat has a Heavy Duty Radar Mast with GPS Antenna, Radar Dome, VHF Antenna, and the required navigational lights. The PDQ 34 features large storage locker in each hull at the bow. The generator is installed in the port bow locker and is very accessible for maintenance. Each hull has a water-tight “crash” bulkhead built in below the waterline in the forward section of each hull. There are also nice storage areas located on top of the auxiliary fuel tank and the water tank.

I chose Zee (Zvonimir Kalinic) after posting an ad for a broker on Yacht Sales from about 15 other brokers because he showed professionalism and care right away compared to the others. Most of the brokers never intended to show people my boat but yet somehow expected to collect commission. Zee met me in Novigrad and spent 3 hours taking photos and drone footage and throughout the listing period was communicating continuously and advising me about any offers that came through. His service was at a high standard that I was extremely happy with and felt comfortable at all times especially since I’m in Sydney and my boat is in Montenegro. I can’t recommend Zee highly enough to anyone looking to sell their boat with peace of mind.
The brokerage team has been amazing. They helped me find the right catamaran for our family of four, with enough space for extended family and friends to stay with us anytime. The broker really helped me narrow down what I needed. I started with a long list and eventually narrowed it down to something that was the right fit and price for me.
I cannot speak too highly of Andrew Hodgdon and his colleagues at the Multihull Company.
The process of selling my boat was very smooth and well managed and with excellent communication – especially important as I was unable to be nearby during the sale process. Andrew’s deep knowledge of the market and my boat was very reassuring. We spoke regularly and he kept me closely advised all the way through to a happy sale. I found him a good guy, very helpful, willing to share and bounce ideas around, and I enjoyed working with him. Highly recommended!
Andrew Hodgdon and The Multihull Company are really professional! I just closed a deal with them, and everything was pretty smooth. Andrew was punctual, showed a lot of expertise, and he was honest about all the problems with the boat. He is also giving me the support I need to run all the projects on this boat. This whole process was much better than I was expecting, and I recommend this team! Thank you, Andrew.
