About this Leopard 51 Powercat

 3-Cabin Owner's Version

Low Hours | Private Purchase or Turn-Key Charter Opportunity | 2026 Tax Benefits / Business Depreciation

Caribbean Cat is a rare opportunity to purchase a 3-cabin Owner's Version Leopard 51 Powercat that has been professionally managed and maintained in the British Virgin Islands since new.

Unlike the majority of Leopard 51PCs coming out of large charter fleets, Caribbean Cat features the highly desirable Owner's Layout, with the entire starboard hull dedicated to a spacious private owner's suite.

Because the 3-cabin layout naturally limited the number of charter groups for which she was suitable, Caribbean Cat has operated a significantly lighter charter schedule than a traditional four-cabin charter yacht. The difference shows in both her condition and her remarkably low engine hours:

  • Port engine: approximately 1,780 hours
  • Starboard engine: approximately 1,732 hours
  • Generator: approximately 11,727 hours
  • Entire starboard hull dedicated to the owner's suite
  • Limited charter history
  • Professionally managed and maintained

CARIBBEAN CAT can be purchased out of charter for private ownership, or she can remain with Virgin Charter Yachts for the upcoming 2026–2027 charter season, creating two very different opportunities for her next owner.

2026 Turn-Key Charter & Business Opportunity

For a purchaser interested in continuing to offer CARIBBEAN CAT for charter, the yacht can remain in the Virgin Charter Yachts fleet for the upcoming 2026–2027 season.

This provides a new owner with the opportunity to purchase an existing, fully outfitted charter yacht without having to start a charter operation from scratch.

  • Existing charter operation
  • Already outfitted for charter
  • Established management company in place
  • Dockage and operational infrastructure already established
  • Marketing and reservations handled by Virgin Charter Yachts
  • Maintenance coordinated by our in-house team
  • Opportunity to generate charter revenue to offset the costs of yacht ownership
  • Owner use remains available with no set limitation on the number of owner weeks

For certain purchasers, acquisition and placement of qualifying business property into service during the 2026 tax year may also provide significant depreciation benefits under current U.S. tax law.

Caribbean Cat's ability to remain in an established charter program makes her particularly interesting for a purchaser looking for a turn-key business asset that can continue operating during 2026, rather than buying a yacht and then having to establish the infrastructure necessary to charter it.

Rare 3-Cabin Owner's Layout

The 3-cabin Leopard 51PC was specifically designed for owners who prioritize space and comfort over maximizing the number of cabins.

Instead of dividing the starboard hull into two cabins, the entire starboard hull belongs to the owner.

  • Full-hull private owner's suite
  • Large private ensuite head
  • Separate oversized shower
  • Dedicated desk / vanity area
  • Couch/sitting area
  • Extensive hanging lockers, drawers and storage
  • Two private guest cabins located in the port hull
  • Private ensuite accommodations for guests
  • 3 cabins / 3 heads total

The result is dramatically different from the more commonly available four-cabin charter configuration and makes Caribbean Cat particularly attractive for a couple planning extended private cruising.

The Owner's Version provides the privacy, storage and living space of a true master suite while still offering two comfortable guest cabins for visiting family and friends.

Ready for Private Cruising

Caribbean Cat can be purchased out of the charter program and transitioned directly into private ownership.

She is already equipped with many of the upgrades private owners look for:

  • Watermaker for extended cruising
  • Ice maker
  • Synthetic teak decking
  • Northern Lights Generator
  • Tropical AC package
  • Additional interiors helm station
  • Large flybridge entertaining area
  • Forward cockpit accessed directly from the salon
  • Fully equipped galley
  • Proven twin-diesel power platform
  • Extensive cruising and charter inventory

Rather than purchasing a former high-volume charter yacht and then spending considerable time and money converting it for private use, Caribbean Cat already combines an owner-oriented layout with the systems and equipment needed for comfortable Caribbean cruising.

Not Your Typical Ex-Charter Leopard

Caribbean Cat has been managed by Virgin Charter Yachts, a boutique BVI charter company that intentionally operates a small, personally curated fleet of approximately 25 yachts.

Large charter operators may manage hundreds of yachts across their fleets. Virgin Charter Yachts takes a very different approach, with extensive preventative maintenance and hands-on oversight from our own BVI-based team.

Because Caribbean Cat's three-cabin Owner's Layout has historically appealed to a narrower segment of the charter market, she has also chartered substantially less than a conventional four-cabin Leopard 51PC.

Her low engine and generator hours reflect that lighter use.  That lower usage has allowed us to keep Caribbean Cat maintained to a very high standard.

The result is an opportunity to acquire a professionally maintained Leopard 51PC that has benefited from charter management without experiencing the utilization normally associated with a high-volume charter yacht.

Virgin Charter Yachts Ownership Program

Virgin Charter Yachts has specialized in yacht charter, management and yacht ownership in the British Virgin Islands since 1996.

Our ownership model is intentionally different from the large charter companies.

We maintain a personally curated fleet of approximately 25 yachts, allowing our team to provide considerably more individual attention to each yacht and each owner.

For owners who choose to keep their yacht in charter, our goal is simple: make yacht ownership as hassle-free as possible.

We coordinate the day-to-day details associated with owning and operating a yacht in the BVI, including:

  • Charter reservations and booking calendars
  • Marketing
  • Guest coordination
  • Insurance
  • Dockage
  • Maintenance and preventative service
  • Parts sourcing and ordering
  • Cleaning and detailing schedules
  • Regulatory and operational requirements
  • Ongoing yacht management

Charter revenue can help offset many of the annual expenses associated with ownership, including dockage, insurance, maintenance and operating expenses.

Unlike many traditional charter ownership programs, Virgin Charter Yachts does not restrict an owner's enjoyment of their yacht to a predetermined number of weeks. Owners can reserve their yacht for their own use throughout the year based on their individual plans and existing charter commitments.

Caribbean Cat  therefore offers her next owner a unique choice:

1. Keep Caribbean Cat in charter and step into an established yacht ownership business for the 2026–2027 season

2. Take Caribbean Cat out of charter and enjoy one of the most desirable Leopard 51PC layouts as your own private cruising yacht.

We take pride in our happy customers

We had an outstanding experience working with Andrew Hodgdon to find our dream boat, an Outremer 52.

We were actually referred to him by several different people—clients who had been very happy working with him, as well as boat owners who were planning to use him to sell their own boats. After working with Andrew ourselves, we completely understand why he came so highly recommended.

We worked with him for several months, and from start to finish, he was exceptional. Andrew is incredibly knowledgeable and truly an expert when it comes to performance catamarans. He took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for, was always responsive and organized, and never made us feel pressured throughout the process.

Andrew went above and beyond to arrange showings for us in multiple states and even traveled to another state to be there with us for the sea trial. His expertise and guidance gave us tremendous confidence as we evaluated such a significant purchase.

The entire process could have been overwhelming, but he made it remarkably smooth. He was on top of every detail and made the paperwork and closing process easy, working seamlessly with his team at The Multihull Company.

What impressed us most was that he genuinely had our best interests in mind. And his support didn’t end when the sale was completed. He has continued to stay in touch and has made it clear that he is still available to help us if we ever need him. That kind of follow-through is rare and speaks volumes about the kind of broker he is.

Buying an Outremer 52 was a huge decision and a major investment, and having someone with his knowledge, experience, responsiveness, and integrity made the entire experience so much easier and more enjoyable.

We couldn’t recommend Andrew Hodgdon more highly. If you’re looking for a yacht broker—especially if you’re considering a performance catamaran—we would choose him again without hesitation. The fact that so many people recommended him to us was the reason we called him, and after working with him, we would be one of those people recommending him to others.

I highly recommend Andrew Hodgdon. He served as our buyers broker. He is responsive, highly knowledgeable and very experienced. He is also an excellent guide and counselor before, during and after the boat purchase process. If you are looking for a good-sailing cat, he seems to collect most of the available boats on the better-sailing side of the market. Top marks.
