About

Lagoon 420 Owner’s Version (2008) – 3 Cabins Owner Layout

This Lagoon 420 Owner’s Version, built in 2008, offers the well-known comfort and volume of this popular cruising catamaran in a sought-after owner’s layout. Originally owned by a German family, she later passed to French owners before being purchased by Danish owners in 2017, who sailed the boat to French Polynesia. The current owner acquired her in 2023 and has mainly used her for holiday sailing, meaning she has not accumulated significant additional mileage in recent years. Polynesian import taxes (Papeete) have been paid, making her particularly attractive for local ownership and cruising.

Autonomy & Energy Systems
This Lagoon 420 offers a solid level of autonomy for comfortable cruising. The boat is equipped with a large 1000Ah battery bank (2022) monitored via a battery management system, supported by 1800W of solar panels with MPPT regulation. A 3000W inverter allows for running household appliances onboard, while a small petrol generator provides additional backup when needed. A 60L/h watermaker further enhances onboard independence, making the boat well-suited for extended stays at anchor.

Electronics & Communication
Navigation electronics have been partially modernised, with a 9 inch Raymarine Axiom plotter integrated into a rewired NMEA network (2024) via a new iTC-5 converter. An AIS system (2022) enhances safety, while the rest of the Raymarine electronics remain functional though of an older generation. A Raymarine Ray50 VHF (January 2025) has been recently added, completing the communication suite. Entertainment has also been upgraded with a Fusion MS-RA210 sound system and speakers (2025).

Sails & Rigging
The sail inventory is practical and updated where it matters, including a Quantum jib (2022), a Parasailor for downwind performance, and a mainsail replaced in 2018 along with a new stackpack. Standing rigging elements such as the forestay and cap shrouds were replaced in 2018, and the mainsail incidence system was also updated. Overall, the setup supports safe and enjoyable cruising.

Dinghy & Anchoring
The anchoring system has seen recent upgrades, with a new windlass gearbox (2023) and electric motor (2025), ensuring reliable operation. The boat comes with a 2019 Hypalon dinghy (recently maintained) paired with a Tohatsu 15HP outboard (2020), mounted on davits with electric winches for easy handling.

Interior & Comfort
The owner’s version layout provides a spacious and practical living environment. The interior shows normal signs of use for her age but benefits from several thoughtful upgrades, including newly upholstered cushions (2023) and a modern anthracite kitchen worktop (2025). The galley is equipped with a Vitrifrigo freezer and microwave (both 2022), and systems have been maintained with replacements such as electric toilet pumps (2022) and a new freshwater pump (2025). Windows were resealed in 2022, contributing to overall comfort onboard.

Engines & Mechanical
The engines have approximately 3500 hours and have been regularly maintained, including a full 1000-hour service completed in January 2024, as well as a standard engine service carried out in 2026. Engine mounts were replaced in 2022, and starter batteries renewed in 2024. The boat is fitted with 3-blade folding propellers (2018, with one replaced in 2024) and benefits from an additional Bamar alternator setup. Other key mechanical updates include new rudder bearings (2022) and all valves and seacocks replaced in 2017, supporting reliability.

We take pride in our happy customers

Chuck at The Multihull Company is the real deal.
He helped us find our Lagoon 40 after genuinely listening to what we needed, not just what he had to sell. He let us visit the boat multiple times, answered every question honestly, and helped us make a confident decision on a major purchase.
What impressed us most was the post-sale support. Once the paperwork was signed, Chuck was still picking up the phone, offering referrals, and helping us work through the early stages of liveaboard life. That kind of follow-through is rare.
If you are looking for a multihull and want someone who knows the boats and actually cares about the outcome, Chuck is the person to call.

We just purchased a 2025 Nautitech 44 Open with The Multihull Company. The process of getting here has been great, and we could not have asked for a better agent. We worked with Conor, whom we met at the 2025 Cannes Boat Show. We started our search for a cruising catamaran in Florida at the beginning of the year. We spent a couple of months looking at different boats/models within our price range and quickly narrowed it down to what really mattered to us, in part thanks to the wealth of knowledge and expertise our broker provided. When we found a perfect match in Montenegro, Conor and The Multihull Company did not hesitate to continue supporting us and to lead the efforts from start to finish with great care and transparency. Communication and support have been outstanding throughout this entire process. Conor, in particular, showed great compassion and care, going above and beyond to ensure that no stone was left unturned and that we would be able to safely and happily sail off into our big adventure.

A sale well handled. No inflated expectations and an honest opinion throughout. Highly recommended.

Absolutely THE ONLY company to use for buying or selling a catamaran! Our Broker Andrew Hodgdon, was excellent to work with, an experienced catamaran captain with extensive knowledge of sailing catamarans, the ins and outs of the construction, performance, systems, everything involved and life on board catamarans. All of which is invaluable in looking for the right boat for someone to buy or helping market your boat when selling. The Multihull Company is so connected in the catamaran world and used by so many catamaran sailors and searchers that we had an interested buyer before our boat was even listed and a completed sale 60 days after her first showing!!! Thanks Andrew and all of the Multihull team who worked diligently to make it happen so smoothly!

— Linda W.

We had a great experience working with Andrew! He was extremely knowledgeable and listened to our needs of what we wanted our next boat to be. He responded quickly to all of our requests and got us to the finish line. Working with Multihull was seamless and we highly recommend using Andrew and Multihull.
