About

Under Contract

Yama 1 is a 1992 Fountaine Pajot Casamance 46, designed by the renowned team of Joubert Nivelt & Mario de Bosset. Built in the golden era of offshore multihull construction, she features solid fiberglass sandwich construction with an infused PVC foam core, overbuilt bulkheads, and sleek, narrow hulls that deliver impressive speed, strength, and efficiency. Known for her exceptional seaworthiness, Yama 1 was a standout in the multihull scene when launched, setting new standards in comfort and performance.

She has been the ideal first sailboat for a family of six, who learned to sail her in New Zealand and are now cruising the Fijian islands. With a spacious saloon, galley-up layout, protected cockpit, and excellent helm visibility, Yama 1 offers a comfortable and confidence-inspiring platform that's easy to sail single handed or with kids aboard.

Over the past year, Yama 1 has undergone a comprehensive refit to support bluewater cruising and extended off-grid living.

Major upgrades include:

  • All-new engine and saildrive mounts, seals and diaphragms (May 2025 - not due again for 10+ years)
  • New 1000W stainless steel solar array arch + 400W wind turbine
  • Victron battery management system with Cerbo GX and 3000W inverter
  • Raymarine Axiom 12 MFD chartplotter + thru-hull fishfinder sonar (June 2025)
  • New rudders and stainless steel shafts (Feb 2025)
  • All thru-hull skin fittings, ball valves, waste pipes and Y-valves replaced
  • New antifoul and charcoal brown 3M Vinyl Wrap (May 2025)
  • Gennaker snuffer and abundant spare parts onboard

She also features an in-boom furling mainsail, air conditioning, generator, watermaker, Iridium communications, and safety gear. Every major system has been considered, upgraded or replaced, giving you peace of mind for years to come.

Yama 1 is truly turnkey and ready for her next chapter. The only reason she's on the market is that the family has committed to a long-term adventure and is upgrading to a larger vessel more suited to a large family. Priced competitively for a quick sale, she's ready for you to step aboard and go, whether that's coastal cruising or ocean crossing.

We take pride in our happy customers

I chose Zee (Zvonimir Kalinic) after posting an ad for a broker on Yacht Sales from about 15 other brokers because he showed professionalism and care right away compared to the others. Most of the brokers never intended to show people my boat but yet somehow expected to collect commission. Zee met me in Novigrad and spent 3 hours taking photos and drone footage and throughout the listing period was communicating continuously and advising me about any offers that came through. His service was at a high standard that I was extremely happy with and felt comfortable at all times especially since I’m in Sydney and my boat is in Montenegro. I can’t recommend Zee highly enough to anyone looking to sell their boat with peace of mind.

The brokerage team has been amazing. They helped me find the right catamaran for our family of four, with enough space for extended family and friends to stay with us anytime. The broker really helped me narrow down what I needed. I started with a long list and eventually narrowed it down to something that was the right fit and price for me.

Our broker Mike Rybas was excellent – great experience!

I cannot speak too highly of Andrew Hodgdon and his colleagues at the Multihull Company.

The process of selling my boat was very smooth and well managed and with excellent communication – especially important as I was unable to be nearby during the sale process. Andrew’s deep knowledge of the market and my boat was very reassuring. We spoke regularly and he kept me closely advised all the way through to a happy sale. I found him a good guy, very helpful, willing to share and bounce ideas around, and I enjoyed working with him. Highly recommended!

— Allan Morrison

Andrew Hodgdon and The Multihull Company are really professional! I just closed a deal with them, and everything was pretty smooth. Andrew was punctual, showed a lot of expertise, and he was honest about all the problems with the boat. He is also giving me the support I need to run all the projects on this boat. This whole process was much better than I was expecting, and I recommend this team! Thank you, Andrew.
