About
Sweet Sensation is a British-flagged 38-foot Prout catamaran, built in the UK in 1998. The current owners are only the boats second owners. They purchased her in 2009 in Turkey and sailed her to the Caribbean. Since then she has cruised extensively in the Eastern and Northern Caribbean, and completed Americas Great Loop (starting and finishing in Trinidad), being laid up ashore during the hurricane season.
A full survey including rigging was carried out in 2022. The boat was spray-painted with AwlGrip 2000 and Kiwi deck painted in 2023. There is a Nera satellite aerial that no longer works but the mounting pole is ready for those who wish to install another communication system.
S/V Sweet Sensation has three berths, enough to sleep six people; the saloon can sleep an additional two. The heads has shower and space to move, and loads of storage space forward. The galley is spacious enough to cook up any fish you catch! Lots of custom wood work though out the entire interior makes Sweet Sensation a beauty.
She is fully equipped and self-sufficient for long distance, blue water cruising and is a fine example of a Prout catamaran. Prout is a much sought-after brand by those in the know. This boat would make a good live aboard and provide many years of enjoyable cruising.

Build
Both one-piece hull and deck mouldings are hand laid glass fibre, using powder-bound mat, biaxial clothes, woven rovings, isopthalic resin. Below the waterline, the hulls are solid laminate, while the topsides and deck incorporate an end grain balsa core. The deck has an integrally moulded non-slip finish. The hull and deck join is fully bonded and protected by a substantial rubbing strake. Many of the structural bulkheads are of vacuum bagged foam core, and when the interior furniture is fully bonded, in a light and stiff honeycomb structure is created.
The Prout is virtually unsinkable due to its watertight bulkheads and buoyancy compartments fore and aft. The keels are integrally moulded and sealed off from the hulls forming a double bottom.
Rudders and Steering
Rudders are skeg hung on stainless steel stocks with self-lubricating bearings (bearings replaced 2009). The steering system is hydraulic with the rudders linked together with a cross-link beam. The hydraulic arm is attached direct to the rudder shaft. The rudder has an access cover above and is designed to accept an emergency tiller. Hydraulic ram and pump replaced 2009. New Sea Star helm January 2025.

A sale well handled. No inflated expectations and an honest opinion throughout. Highly recommended.
Absolutely THE ONLY company to use for buying or selling a catamaran! Our Broker Andrew Hodgdon, was excellent to work with, an experienced catamaran captain with extensive knowledge of sailing catamarans, the ins and outs of the construction, performance, systems, everything involved and life on board catamarans. All of which is invaluable in looking for the right boat for someone to buy or helping market your boat when selling. The Multihull Company is so connected in the catamaran world and used by so many catamaran sailors and searchers that we had an interested buyer before our boat was even listed and a completed sale 60 days after her first showing!!! Thanks Andrew and all of the Multihull team who worked diligently to make it happen so smoothly!
We had a great experience working with Andrew! He was extremely knowledgeable and listened to our needs of what we wanted our next boat to be. He responded quickly to all of our requests and got us to the finish line. Working with Multihull was seamless and we highly recommend using Andrew and Multihull.
Chris Block was our broker. He was great. He went above and beyond what we thought we needed. His expertise helped us get our dream boat for way less than expected. I will use TMC and Chris Block in the future. Definitely recommend.
Chris Rundlett in Grenada was my buyers broker for a catamaran I purchased in Tortola.
The buying process was problematic with numerous mechanical issues needing attention. Throughout the process he was fantastic. I would highly recommend him if you’re looking to buy a boat in the Caribbean.
