Shanti III is a turnkey 1998 Manta 40 catamaran. US Florida built by Manta Catamarans which are known, and made for, blue water cruising. They have a devoted and loyal following of knowledgeable past and current owners. Manta was an early convert to the self-tacking jib and galley up layout that most cats built today have.
Shanti III is currently located in Fiji so you can start your south Pacific cruising in one of the most beautiful areas of the world. Owners are actively using her so she isn’t a forgotten wreck sitting with no one taking care of her. Current owners have sailed the Sea of Cortez in Mexico and up to San Diego California. From there they have sailed to Australia and New Zealand and all points in between. They have maintained the boat for each trip and the boat is ready to continue with new owners.
Manta cats are known for their sound construction and excellent performance. They are designed for easy single handing with the self-tacking jib and all lines leading to the cockpit helm station. Shanti III has a large, comfortable cockpit (can seat 12+) with both bamboo cockpit and cocktail tables. A wonderful sling seat mounted on the arch support gives helm-height views from the stern and catches the cooling breezes. The entire area is covered by a newer bimini (supporting 800w of solar) and dodger forward. There is a hot/cold shower on the starboard transom of this beautiful, fun, easy sailing and easy living catamaran.
Shanti III boasts 6’3” headroom in the cabin as well as in the hulls! All of this while maintaining plenty of open floor space. The hulls are reserved for the 3 staterooms which sleep 5 comfortably, and 2 heads, both with separate shower stalls. You have comfort with dual station forced air AC and heat throughout the boat.
Shanti is loaded with options, spares, and updated electronics. Plus, newer standing rigging and new 2025 main and jib sails. She is completely cruise ready for wherever your dreams may take you. Manta Catamarans have explored the globe and been loved by their owners for decades. If you desire to cruise in comfort and safety, this is a great boat. She is ready for her next adventure…
Layout & Accommodations
Deck
When you walk up to the stern you will notice the 5 built in steps from the stern of each hull to access the cockpit and side decks. You will also be drawn to the very nicely designed and executed aluminum framing for the Bimini attached to the large arch. The arch not only supports the back of the Bimini but also is the davit for the dinghy. More importantly it also supports the swing settee at the stern (personally, I think this is one of the best places to chill). On top of the Bimini are 800w hard solar panels. The arch has wind gen, forward facing spotlight, antenna and radar. On the port side of the cockpit forward is the raised helm station (still low enough to be part of the cockpit) which has the electric winch for sail trim, helm with electronics and engine controls. Inboard of the helm is the entrance to the salon. When you look around the cockpit you will see the table for dining and full enclosure. Moving forward down the side decks you have double lifelines out board and there is a curved stainless steel railing inboard on the cabin top for safety when moving forward. The bow has 2 trampolines (new 2024) with seat on each pulpit. The spinnaker pole fits nicely across the front of the boat. There is an opening hatch forward of the trunk cabin and one each side of the cabin top. Just aft of the bow on each hull is a fiberglass deck hatch for access to such items as genset on the port side and storage on starboard. In front of the cabin are 2 more fiberglass opening hatches for access to chain locker and storage. There are steps to the cabin top from the foredeck for easier access to the mast.
Main cabin
As you enter the cabin you will find one of the best owner/operator layouts available. The Manta 40 has one of the best galley up designs in a boat of this size, The U-shaped galley is aft on the port side with stove facing aft and sinks facing inboard, plus plenty of counter space, drawers and cabinets. The fridge and freezer lockers are forward on port which provide great counter space. To port of the fridge freezer is the nav station. To starboard is the salon and is laid out like a real kitchen. It is one of the best galley-up designs in a boat this size. There is an extremely well insulated huge fridge/freezer with 10 cu ft of storage space. Additional bamboo shelves have been added in the galley and at the entrance for extra storage. Across from the galley the navigation/chart table (with plenty of room for full size charts and storage), L shaped settee (new neutral upholstery 2015) and custom adjustable (dining, bar or cocktail height) bamboo table for 6 are also in the main salon. On the inboard end of the table is an igloo-style cooler with seat cushion on it. Aft against the inside of the trunk cabin bulkhead is a recessed flat screen TV. Below the TV is a cupboard with a louvered door. Stairs to starboard hull is directly forward of this bulkhead.
Port Hull
Stepping down the extended bamboo stairs, the port hull is the owner’s hull. As you reach the bottom of the steps you have an opening port directly outboard. Turning aft you have a queen sized berth with opening port at the stern. There is a custom headboard shelf with 2 reading lights, settee ahead of berth, cedar lined double hanging locker, and plenty of drawers, cabinets and cubbies. There is an opening hull port plus overhead opening hatch for maximum cross ventilation. The two fans provide air flow when there is no wind. The hallway leading forward has beautiful custom teak shelving along one side, and a huge, deep four shelf pantry on the other. The owner’s head is very spacious with large separate shower, sink with upgraded facet and storage below, large, mirrored vanity cabinet, and electric fresh water toilet with bamboo toilet seat. There is also an opening overhead hatch forward.
Starboard Hull
The starboard hull features an aft VIP guest stateroom with queen size berth, cedar lined hanging locker, settee, and plenty of drawers and storage. It also has two opening ports, overhead opening hatch and fan for your guests’ comfort. A custom teak bookcase is in the companionway. The guest head and shower are centrally located between the two staterooms, and includes a separate shower stall, vanity with storage below, large, mirrored storage cabinet and electric freshwater toilet with bamboo toilet seat. There is also an opening port. The starboard hull also includes a forward single berth with storage shelves and the combo washer/dryer, plus an overhead opening hatch. The steps for the starboard hull also have extended bamboo treads for ease of use.

Chuck at The Multihull Company is the real deal.
He helped us find our Lagoon 40 after genuinely listening to what we needed, not just what he had to sell. He let us visit the boat multiple times, answered every question honestly, and helped us make a confident decision on a major purchase.
What impressed us most was the post-sale support. Once the paperwork was signed, Chuck was still picking up the phone, offering referrals, and helping us work through the early stages of liveaboard life. That kind of follow-through is rare.
If you are looking for a multihull and want someone who knows the boats and actually cares about the outcome, Chuck is the person to call.
We just purchased a 2025 Nautitech 44 Open with The Multihull Company. The process of getting here has been great, and we could not have asked for a better agent. We worked with Conor, whom we met at the 2025 Cannes Boat Show. We started our search for a cruising catamaran in Florida at the beginning of the year. We spent a couple of months looking at different boats/models within our price range and quickly narrowed it down to what really mattered to us, in part thanks to the wealth of knowledge and expertise our broker provided. When we found a perfect match in Montenegro, Conor and The Multihull Company did not hesitate to continue supporting us and to lead the efforts from start to finish with great care and transparency. Communication and support have been outstanding throughout this entire process. Conor, in particular, showed great compassion and care, going above and beyond to ensure that no stone was left unturned and that we would be able to safely and happily sail off into our big adventure.
A sale well handled. No inflated expectations and an honest opinion throughout. Highly recommended.
Absolutely THE ONLY company to use for buying or selling a catamaran! Our Broker Andrew Hodgdon, was excellent to work with, an experienced catamaran captain with extensive knowledge of sailing catamarans, the ins and outs of the construction, performance, systems, everything involved and life on board catamarans. All of which is invaluable in looking for the right boat for someone to buy or helping market your boat when selling. The Multihull Company is so connected in the catamaran world and used by so many catamaran sailors and searchers that we had an interested buyer before our boat was even listed and a completed sale 60 days after her first showing!!! Thanks Andrew and all of the Multihull team who worked diligently to make it happen so smoothly!
We had a great experience working with Andrew! He was extremely knowledgeable and listened to our needs of what we wanted our next boat to be. He responded quickly to all of our requests and got us to the finish line. Working with Multihull was seamless and we highly recommend using Andrew and Multihull.
