Sea Warden: The Story Begins—Maiden Voyage of a Privilège Signature 510 (Part 1)

Story by Andrew Holland / February 27, 2026

For over 40 years, Privilège Marine has stood for a certain standard of blue-water excellence. They don’t just build yachts; they build the platforms upon which owners launch their global adventures. Today, we are thrilled to take you behind the scenes of one of those launches: the maiden voyage of “Sea Warden,” a spectacular Privilège Signature 510.

In this first episode of our vlog documentary series, we join the owner and a professional delivery crew in the iconic sailing capital of Les Sables-d’Olonne, France.

The goal? To move “Sea Warden” from a meticulous shipyard masterpiece to a true offshore voyager, beginning with a significant crossing: across the notorious Bay of Biscay to Lanzarote in the Canary Islands.

48 Hours to Splash: The Intensity of Preparation

There is a singular kind of energy on a new boat just days before a major passage. In this episode, you’ll get an authentic look at the sheer amount of work that goes into a professional departure.

The Walkthrough & Provisioning

It’s not just about sailing skill; it’s about logistics. Watching the final walkthrough of the Signature 510’s robust systems, followed by the logistical ballet of provisioning a 51-foot luxury catamaran for a weeks-long journey, reminds us that Privilège is designed for self-sufficiency. Every drawer, every locker, and every technical compartment is utilized to prepare “Sea Warden” for the open ocean.

Safety First: SEA.AI in Action

We are particularly excited to highlight the safety protocols in this video. As we recently announced, Privilège now equips its entire range with SEA.AI as standard equipment.

Seeing the masthead unit powered up during this pre-passage phase is a powerful reminder of Privilège’s “Mastered Innovation” philosophy. For a crew tackling the Bay of Biscay, having a digital lookout that can identify unidentified floating objects (UFOs), containers, and fishing buoys—even in total darkness—adds an invaluable layer of serenity and security.

Waiting on Biscay

Perhaps the most crucial component of preparation is the weather. We join the crew as they pore over GRIB files, analyzing wind and swell models for the Bay of Biscay. The central pod design of the Signature 510 is legendary for its comfort and safety in challenging conditions, but no sailor looks at Biscay without respect.

The decision to cast off lines is the final culmination of data, training, and the innate robustness of the vessel.

The Moment of Departure

The lines are cast off. The shipyard in Les Sables-d’Olonne fades from view. For the first time, “Sea Warden” meets the open ocean.

This isn’t just a delivery trip; it is the physical realization of an owner’s dream. At The Multihull Company, it’s this moment that makes everything worthwhile.

We invite you to follow this multi-part journey as “Sea Warden” proves herself in the open ocean. Subscribe to the channel to get notified when Part 2 (Crossing the Bay of Biscay) drops!

We take pride in our happy customers

Chuck at The Multihull Company is the real deal.
He helped us find our Lagoon 40 after genuinely listening to what we needed, not just what he had to sell. He let us visit the boat multiple times, answered every question honestly, and helped us make a confident decision on a major purchase.
What impressed us most was the post-sale support. Once the paperwork was signed, Chuck was still picking up the phone, offering referrals, and helping us work through the early stages of liveaboard life. That kind of follow-through is rare.
If you are looking for a multihull and want someone who knows the boats and actually cares about the outcome, Chuck is the person to call.

We just purchased a 2025 Nautitech 44 Open with The Multihull Company. The process of getting here has been great, and we could not have asked for a better agent. We worked with Conor, whom we met at the 2025 Cannes Boat Show. We started our search for a cruising catamaran in Florida at the beginning of the year. We spent a couple of months looking at different boats/models within our price range and quickly narrowed it down to what really mattered to us, in part thanks to the wealth of knowledge and expertise our broker provided. When we found a perfect match in Montenegro, Conor and The Multihull Company did not hesitate to continue supporting us and to lead the efforts from start to finish with great care and transparency. Communication and support have been outstanding throughout this entire process. Conor, in particular, showed great compassion and care, going above and beyond to ensure that no stone was left unturned and that we would be able to safely and happily sail off into our big adventure.

A sale well handled. No inflated expectations and an honest opinion throughout. Highly recommended.

Absolutely THE ONLY company to use for buying or selling a catamaran! Our Broker Andrew Hodgdon, was excellent to work with, an experienced catamaran captain with extensive knowledge of sailing catamarans, the ins and outs of the construction, performance, systems, everything involved and life on board catamarans. All of which is invaluable in looking for the right boat for someone to buy or helping market your boat when selling. The Multihull Company is so connected in the catamaran world and used by so many catamaran sailors and searchers that we had an interested buyer before our boat was even listed and a completed sale 60 days after her first showing!!! Thanks Andrew and all of the Multihull team who worked diligently to make it happen so smoothly!

— Linda W.

We had a great experience working with Andrew! He was extremely knowledgeable and listened to our needs of what we wanted our next boat to be. He responded quickly to all of our requests and got us to the finish line. Working with Multihull was seamless and we highly recommend using Andrew and Multihull.
