He assisted me in purchasing a Fontaine-Pajot Lipari 41 catamaran.
I was away from St Augustine during much of the time that would normally be required to make the purchase. Andrew arranged for a viewing (with the owner) on the day that I would be in St Augustine; he recommended surveyors and he arranged for the survey time also on the tight schedule that I had. All of the closing, etc. was done from a distance, primarily while I was in Panama. He went beyond normal expectations several times including arranging for a haul out and getting my boat to the haul out in order to do some maintenance after my purchase.
I felt that he was always acting fairly – for both the seller and for me. And he always responded quickly to any questions that I had.
I highly recommend Andrew Hodgdon. He served as our buyers broker. He is responsive, highly knowledgeable and very experienced. He is also an excellent guide and counselor before, during and after the boat purchase process. If you are looking for a good-sailing cat, he seems to collect most of the available boats on the better-sailing side of the market. Top marks.
