Captain Dunbar Lewis is a seasoned yacht broker with a rich and varied sailing background that spans several decades and continents. His maritime journey began as a teenager windsurfing on his local dam, evolving into a passion for racing dinghies and keelboats in Table Bay, South Africa. This early experience laid the foundation for a distinguished career in sailing and yacht brokerage.
Dunbar’s adventurous spirit and expertise were further demonstrated when he undertook the remarkable solo voyage of sailing his 27ft boat from London to Ibiza. He continued to expand his horizons by crossing the South Pacific with his wife, Joy, aboard their 40ft Endeavor, and making a successful west-to-east transit of the Northwest Passage aboard Jimmy Cornell’s 45ft aluminum exploration monohull.
With extensive experience as a catamaran delivery skipper, Dunbar has navigated a variety of cruising catamarans across diverse cruising grounds, honing his skills and deepening his knowledge of the maritime world. His extensive hands-on experience has equipped him with valuable insights into yacht performance, maintenance, and management.
Now based in Fort Lauderdale, Captain Dunbar Lewis leverages his vast experience to assist clients with buying and selling yachts, providing expert training, and managing maintenance and delivery services. His comprehensive understanding of the yachting industry, combined with his personal sailing adventures, ensures that he delivers exceptional service and guidance to all his clients.
