About

"Why Knot" Start your global or local sailing adventure in this comfort and stylish world class stepped hull blue water catamaran.

"Why Knot"  features ample, open living spaces, numerous long term sailing upgrades, including an advanced Lightning Protection System (LPS), waste management system (owner’s cabin), forward scanning sonar, 4-blade feathering max props, 4 NEW sails including Main, Genoa, Code Zero (original sails still in good shape), new brand name ISTEC Parasailer, increased storage areas, and new bottom paint.

"Why Knot" is a blue water catamaran is in excellent condition being meticulously maintained by the owners. Not only does it come with numerous improvements, it provides a remarkable opportunity for global cruising and a live aboard lifestyle without the need for additional investment.

"Why Knot" has full wrap around panoramic windows, a saloon size overhead skylight with shade, and enlarged hull windows. The interior design is modern and simple with an elegant, light finish along with gray accent panels and unique blue glow epoxy countertops – don’t like blue? These countertop color can be changed depending on the new owner’s desire. The saloon not only provides generous space for on-board entertaining, but the vibrant blue updated, high quality foam cushions provide added comfort.

The 3-cabin layout features two guest cabins in the port hull, both containing en-suite heads and shower spaces. The entire starboard hull is dedicated to a spacious owners suite with a master cabin, private head with a large shower stall, and dressers, one with stowage that is accessed from the top of the dresser.

In comparison to other Leopard catamarans, the volume below deck has been increased. Although the Leopard catamaran comes with a certain amount of standard storage, the owners of this catamaran created innovative supplemental storage, optimizing unused open spaces. Additionally, all hanging closets have shelves, which significantly increases storage space.

This boat is comfortable, private, and well-ventilated with bug screens for both the front and rear lounges, which include a separate set of no-see-um screens. The atmosphere is enhanced by natural light provided by the enlarged hull windows, portlights, skylight, deck flush hatches, and full enclosure with useful back screens.

Designed for a modern, full time on the water lifestyle, the Leopard 45 features a raised helm station covered by a hardtop Bimini with direct access from the cockpit and side deck. All sailing lines conveniently lead to accessible winches with rope clutches for easy sail management and sailing pleasure. The electric primary winches are operated by 2 footswitches.

The exterior styling has evolved into a sharper, more angular look, topped by a sleek new saloon hard top, which extends from the aft cockpit to the forward cockpit. Spacious, practical, and protected from the sun, the aft deck offers the perfect entertainment area with plenty of seating and a clear natural breeze through the open plan saloon, which is available via the weather tight, front door. The forward cockpit provides access to the fore deck, anchor, and trampoline, which augments safety by avoiding the need to go out along the port or starboard deck. The large front door allows for superior ventilation, which also comes with screens to protect from bugs.
