About

2019 Antares 44 GT, Halo

Halo is the first Antares vessel to feature a redesigned cockpit optimized for comfort and a streamlined aesthetic. As a single-owner vessel, she has been meticulously maintained. Halo has numerous upgrades, including a substantial 2.8kW of solar power, a 9kWh lithium battery capacity, a new Bauer JR electric dive compressor equipped with two steel tanks, and additional enhancements.

Prepared for further exploration, Halo is poised to embark on her next adventure in Mexico, with seamless access to the Galapagos Islands and the South Pacific.

Β

The Antares 44, renowned for over two decades as the world’s premier blue-water cruising catamaran, has undergone meticulous construction and continuous improvement based on extensive global testing and feedback from its 72 dedicated hull owners. In 2019, Argentinian yacht builder 40 Grados Sur redesigned the cockpit for the GT version, and Halo, the inaugural Antares with this enhanced cockpit, is now ready to embark on its new journey. Halo’s new owners will be reassured that she has undergone rigorous testing and optimization, culminating in her new-owner shakedown period. All systems were fully commissioned in Argentina and subjected to extensive sea trials. The owner and builder have invested heavily in ensuring Halo’s performance, equipping her with the confidence to sail confidently in any global destination.Β

CONSTRUCTION

The hull and deck are constructed using Isophthalic acid resin and tri-axial knitted fiberglass fabric. The exterior layer is composed of 100% vinylester, while the interior layer is made of polyester. Corecell foam is employed for coring above the waterline, except for hardware attachment points. All coring is vacuum-bagged to ensure complete adhesion. Below the waterline, the hulls are solid fiberglass. Each bow locker contains two forward watertight compartments and four watertight bulkheads – two forward and two aft. The standard fin keels feature a sacrificial section designed to withstand substantial damage without compromising hull integrity.

We take pride in our happy customers

I chose Zee (Zvonimir Kalinic) after posting an ad for a broker on Yacht Sales from about 15 other brokers because he showed professionalism and care right away compared to the others. Most of the brokers never intended to show people my boat but yet somehow expected to collect commission. Zee met me in Novigrad and spent 3 hours taking photos and drone footage and throughout the listing period was communicating continuously and advising me about any offers that came through. His service was at a high standard that I was extremely happy with and felt comfortable at all times especially since I’m in Sydney and my boat is in Montenegro. I can’t recommend Zee highly enough to anyone looking to sell their boat with peace of mind.

β€” Mark Eymes

The brokerage team has been amazing. They helped me find the right catamaran for our family of four, with enough space for extended family and friends to stay with us anytime. The broker really helped me narrow down what I needed. I started with a long list and eventually narrowed it down to something that was the right fit and price for me.

β€” Adam Munder

Our broker Mike Rybas was excellent – great experience!

β€” Chris Hannant

I cannot speak too highly of Andrew Hodgdon and his colleagues at the Multihull Company.

The process of selling my boat was very smooth and well managed and with excellent communication – especially important as I was unable to be nearby during the sale process. Andrew’s deep knowledge of the market and my boat was very reassuring. We spoke regularly and he kept me closely advised all the way through to a happy sale. I found him a good guy, very helpful, willing to share and bounce ideas around, and I enjoyed working with him. Highly recommended!

β€” Allan Morrison

Andrew Hodgdon and The Multihull Company are really professional! I just closed a deal with them, and everything was pretty smooth. Andrew was punctual, showed a lot of expertise, and he was honest about all the problems with the boat. He is also giving me the support I need to run all the projects on this boat. This whole process was much better than I was expecting, and I recommend this team! Thank you, Andrew.
