About

Are you looking for an overbuilt boat to keep you safe?

Alacrity, a Bruce Roberts 45, was custom built in South Africa for a global circumnavigation. This craft is built like a floating tank with many extra layers of fiberglass from approximately 1 foot above the waterline to and including the keel.

The main cabin roof has 2 heavy lifting points installed. One over the main engine area and the second set over the generator location so if any work is planned, there is zero problem using heavy lift systems without any worry. This boat is BUILT STRONG !!

Two surveyors and one professional sailer have said, this is the strongest boat Ive ever seen.. the foredeck doesnt move! Its so strong

Recent upgrades and improvements:

A full new maintenance free AGM 900 AH battery house bank was just professionally installed.

A new maintenance free AGM engine start battery was just professionally installed.

Both heads have had the manual pump systems replaced with new Jabsco units.

Some 12 volt cabin lights replaced with new units.

Under the forward bunks and aft bunk are spare rigging stays just in case.

Available separately is a newly refurbished Bombard / Apex RIB will Tohatsu 5 hp outboard motor.

Alacrity was completely overhauled in 2006 for a global circumnavigation. The hull, from about12 above the waterline to the keel, has a progressive 6 to 12 additional layers of fibreglass toreinforce the hull in preparation of the circumnavigation.

Alacrity has 2 separate lifting ring positions on the main cabin roof. One is over the main engineposition and the other is over the generator position. No additional reinforcement is needed tolift the engine or generator other than your lifting hoists.

This is arguably the strongest built boat you will find from the main cabin roof structure to thedecks to the hull, its overbuilt for safety.

Dear Cynthia and Andrew,
I wanted to extend my sincere thanks to both of you and The Multihull Company team for the outstanding job you did in successfully closing the sale of our Excess 14. Despite the challenging environment — including new import tariffs and unique buyer requirements — you navigated everything with professionalism, perseverance, and efficiency.
The transaction was completed smoothly and in good time, which is a true credit to your dedication and expertise. Very well done.
Thank you again, and I wish you all the very best.
Warm regards,

We had an outstanding experience working with Andrew Hodgdon. From the very beginning, he demonstrated deep knowledge of the catamaran we were considering and took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for. He found us the perfect vessel that matched our needs and budget and negotiated a fantastic deal on our behalf.

What truly set him apart was he responsiveness—every question we had was answered promptly and thoroughly, and he guided us through the entire process with professionalism and care. We couldn’t be happier with the service and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and dedicated yacht broker.
