About

GTFO is the only Balance 482 currently available on the pre-owned market! This is a preliminary listing with new photos coming once the boat arrives in Florida.

GTFO means "Got The F**k Out!" and that was exactly the owner's plan as they sailed into the sunset after retirement. She lives up to that name as a fully equipped world voyager that is ready to carry you across oceans in safety and comfort. GTFO was originally launched in Cape Town, South Africa in November 2023 and is hull #14 of this coveted high-performance brand. In the time since departing Cape Town, GTFO has twice crossed the Atlantic and cruised extensively in the Caribbean, US East Coast, and Mediterranean. She is a proven blue water cruiser with the sailing performance to make any true sailor smile!

Designated by Balance as Hull #14 - she is in fact the 13th 482 hull built. Balance skipped hull number 13 for superstitious reasons, yet her owners embraced its deeper symbolism. The number 13 represents the death of one life and the rebirth of another. Thats why GTFO proudly carries a large 13 on her hull wrap, celebrating transformation and new beginnings a fitting reflection of her name and spirit.

This is a rare opportunity to purchase a gorgeous example of the award-winning Balance 482 catamaran. The original design premise for the Balance 482 was to create a catamaran that had wonderful sailing characteristics with luxurious and comfortable accommodations but was set up to still be easily operated by a retired couple. Therefore, these performance cruising vessels are equipped with powerful sail plans and daggerboards which allow them to sail circles around the competition while still being easily managed for shorthanded operation. As the name suggests, it is the perfect balance of sporty sailing characteristics and liveaboard comfort.

Balance Catamarans are well known for their stunning designs, exceptional build quality, and gorgeous fit and finish. They feature industry leading technology such as their signature VersaHelm steering system, 48V Victron house batteries, carbon fiber reinforced daggerboards, state-of-the-art electronics suites, etc. The build process for these fantastic vessels incorporates Balances Carbon Cross design and construction techniques which utilizes E-glass fiberglass with significant Carbon Fiber reinforcement in the high load areas of the hulls and decks. Every Balance 482 is hand laminated and vacuum bagged with vinylester outer skin resin over a closed-cell foam core. The end result is a lightweight, stiff, and robust vessel built for world voyaging.

GTFO has a 3-cabin Owners Version layout that is tastefully appointed with several custom touches, a custom silver vinyl wrapped hull, and an extensive list of factory and after-market options. She sports all the most modern equipment available for a liveaboard voyager. Several of her equipment highlights include:

  • US Import Duty / Tariff Paid

We take pride in our happy customers

The brokerage team has been amazing. They helped me find the right catamaran for our family of four, with enough space for extended family and friends to stay with us anytime. The broker really helped me narrow down what I needed. I started with a long list and eventually narrowed it down to something that was the right fit and price for me.

— Adam Munder

Our broker Mike Rybas was excellent – great experience!

— Chris Hannant

I cannot speak too highly of Andrew Hodgdon and his colleagues at the Multihull Company.

The process of selling my boat was very smooth and well managed and with excellent communication – especially important as I was unable to be nearby during the sale process. Andrew’s deep knowledge of the market and my boat was very reassuring. We spoke regularly and he kept me closely advised all the way through to a happy sale. I found him a good guy, very helpful, willing to share and bounce ideas around, and I enjoyed working with him. Highly recommended!

— Allan Morrison

Andrew Hodgdon and The Multihull Company are really professional! I just closed a deal with them, and everything was pretty smooth. Andrew was punctual, showed a lot of expertise, and he was honest about all the problems with the boat. He is also giving me the support I need to run all the projects on this boat. This whole process was much better than I was expecting, and I recommend this team! Thank you, Andrew.

— Gustavo Machado

The multihull company, specifically Andrew Hodgson worked with me in the sale of Gods Grace, a 50’ Voyage 500. They made sure that as many people as possible touched it, laid hands on it, ultimately resulting in a offer and sale and was extremely helpful in the prep and sale process as I did not live locally… If you want to make sure that people actually see your vessel, will be honest and truly assist you in the sale, Andrew is the man for the job.
