About

Ke'Ala is by far the best condition Balance 482 available on the pre-owned market!

Ke'Ala means "the path" or "the way" in Hawaiian. She lives up to that name as a fully equipped world voyager that is ready to carry you across oceans in safety and comfort. Ke'Ala was originally launched in Cape Town, South Africa in December 2021 and is hull #3 of this coveted high-performance brand. She has always been operated and meticulously maintained by her dedicated owner who is a professional captain. You will not find a Balance (or any other catamaran for that matter!) that shows in better condition.

This is a rare opportunity to purchase a gorgeous example of the award-winning Balance 482 catamaran. The original design premise for the Balance 482 was to create a catamaran that had wonderful sailing characteristics with luxurious and comfortable accommodations but was set up to still be easily operated by a retired couple. Therefore, these performance cruising vessels are equipped with powerful sail plans and daggerboards which allow them to sail circles around the competition while still being easily managed for shorthanded operation. As the name suggests, it is the perfect balance of sporty sailing characteristics and liveaboard comfort.

Balance Catamarans are well known for their stunning designs, exceptional build quality, and gorgeous fit and finish. They feature industry leading technology such as their signature VersaHelm steering system, Integrel charging technology, carbon fiber reinforced daggerboards, Ullman ASDL tri-radial laminate sails, state-of-the-art electronics suites, etc. The build process for these fantastic vessels incorporates Balances Carbon Cross design and construction techniques which utilizes E-glass fiberglass with significant Carbon Fiber reinforcement in the high load areas of the hulls and decks. Every Balance 482 is hand laminated and vacuum bagged with vinylester outer skin resin over closed cell foam cores. The end result is a lightweight, stiff, and robust vessel built for world voyaging.

Ke'Ala has a 3-cabin Owners Version layout that is tastefully appointed with several custom touches, a striking orange exterior hull color, and an extensive list of factory and after-market options. She sports all the most modern equipment available for a liveaboard voyager. Several of her equipment highlights include:

  • US Import Duty / Tariff Paid
  • 48V Victron Lithium House Battery Bank
  • Integrel Charging System on both engines 2 x 9kW Capacity
  • 1600 Watts of Solar
  • Spectra Cape Horn Watermaker w/ Z-Ion
  • Air Conditioning / Heating throughout - DC high efficiency units can run directly off the batteries
  • Ullman Performance Sail Package including Screecher and Spinnakers
  • Full Raymarine Electronics Suite including Autopilot, Radar, AIS, etc
  • LG Combo Washer / Dryer

... And so much more!

Ke'Ala is U.S. Duty / Tariff Paid and in turn key condition! A buyer could load her up the day after closing and head for the South Pacific without a second thought. Ke'Ala is located in Ft Lauderdale, FL and available for showings to qualified potential buyers by appointment.

We take pride in our happy customers

Excellent communication.

— Nicolas Bergstein

We had a great purchasing experience with The Multihull Company. Got us into the boat we really wanted, our broker Josie was amazing, she walked us through the entire process, negotiated the deal we wanted and gave us great advice throughout. If you are looking to purchase a boat we can’t recommend them enough.

— Roger Matros

It’s been a few weeks now and the dust has settled. We had a great experience with the Multihull Company and in particular our broker, Caroline Laviolette. Caroline was happy to share her knowledge of the market and the catamarans we were interested in purchasing. She was patient and thorough as we looked at several boats in SE Florida, helped us narrow our search and eventually purchase a beautiful 2017 Lagoon 42. Many thanks to the team at The Multihull Company!

— Carl Anderson

We had a great experience purchasing our boat with Will Miller as a buyers agent. Purchasing our first large Cat is a daunting experience and Will was able to walk us through the process with ease. Will was very straight forward and constantly gave us honest feedback as well as finding and pointing out details on all the boats that we may not have noticed or thought about.

We had a great experience and would use them again.

I would specifically recommend a buyers agent when purchasing to help weed through a lot of problems and misrepresented boats on the market.

— Anthony Nappa

We have had great experiences with the Multihull company. We both sold our old boat through them, and bought our new boat through them. I have to say that Will Miller is top-notch, and Riley was great as our broker for selling our O day 39. when you buy a Salt or Boat through them, I feel like you are not only clients, but you are friends. The lines of communication were always open and we were always informed of everything going on.

— Gwayne
