About

Bali 5.4 “Giliss” – Owner’s Version, Fully Equipped for Ocean Cruising

The Bali 5.4 “Giliss” is an owner’s version catamaran, fully equipped for bluewater sailing and long-term liveaboard comfort.
She has had only one private owner, a family of six, and has never been chartered.
After launching in France, Giliss joined the Rallye des Îles du Soleil 2024 and continued across the Atlantic and Pacific to French Polynesia.

With 5 + 1 cabins, including:

  • a spacious owner’s suite with private deck access,
  • two double cabins and one twin cabin,
  • an independent aft cabin with its own exterior access,
  • plus a skipper’s cabin in the forepeak with toilet, this yacht is ideal for a large family or as a high-end charter vessel.

Comfort & Living Spaces

The Bali 5.4 is renowned for its exceptional space and open living concept, one of the key reasons the owners chose this model.  With four high-school-aged children and parents continuing to work remotely, generous private and shared spaces were essential.

Despite her comfort, Giliss is a capable sailing yacht — she proudly won the catamaran category in all stages of the Rallye des Îles du Soleil.

Highlights

  • Signature Bali garage door: transforms the saloon into an open-air terrace.
The enormous saloon with open galley and seating for 12 becomes a breezy indoor–outdoor space when the door is raised.  Combined with the forward door and opening windows, ventilation is excellent - ideal for tropical climates.  Air conditioning is also fitted throughout for comfort.
  • Aft deck plancha grill for outdoor dining.
  • Open-plan galley with full domestic-style equipment: 615L fridge-freezer with chilled water and ice maker, large dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, Dyson vacuum, and more…
  • Fresh water system: 105 L/h water maker with UV purification, carbon and remineralization filters.
  • Flybridge: helm station plus two tables with seating, drinks fridge, sink, and large sun deck with panoramic views.  Hard top and full weather enclosure included.
  • Forward lounge: sunbeds, table with shade cover, accessible directly from the saloon.
  • Entertainment: pop-up TV, sound system with interior and flybridge speakers.

Sailing & Deck Equipment

The owners have set the boat up really nicely for sailing. She features a large sail area with a square-top mainsail and furling solent, complemented by an excellent downwind sail package: a Code 0 on furler and a 222 m² Parasailor with easy snuffer system.
All halyards are top-quality Gottifredi Maffioli, ensuring smooth handling and durability.  Electric winches and a Wichard boom brake further enhance ease of sail management and safety.

Power & Energy Management

Designed for self-sufficiency at sea, Giliss’s power system combines efficiency, reliability, and renewable energy.

  • 2.2 kW solar array providing abundant renewable power
  • NANNI 11 kW generator
  • 125 A alternators on both engines
  • Deep-cycle AGM batteries
  • Victron GX Touch 70 touch-screen power management display

Together, these systems make Giliss fully energy independent, ideal for long-term cruising.

Mechanical

Giliss is equipped for smooth, confident handling in all conditions. Twin upgraded 80 HP engines with 125 A alternators provide reliable power, complemented by electronic engine controls and a Dockmate Twist joystick docking system that work seamlessly with the bow thruster for effortless maneuvering in tight spaces.
Folding 3-blade propellers enhance sailing performance, and all servicing is fully up to date.

We take pride in our happy customers

The brokerage team has been amazing. They helped me find the right catamaran for our family of four, with enough space for extended family and friends to stay with us anytime. The broker really helped me narrow down what I needed. I started with a long list and eventually narrowed it down to something that was the right fit and price for me.

— Adam Munder

Our broker Mike Rybas was excellent – great experience!

I cannot speak too highly of Andrew Hodgdon and his colleagues at the Multihull Company.

The process of selling my boat was very smooth and well managed and with excellent communication – especially important as I was unable to be nearby during the sale process. Andrew’s deep knowledge of the market and my boat was very reassuring. We spoke regularly and he kept me closely advised all the way through to a happy sale. I found him a good guy, very helpful, willing to share and bounce ideas around, and I enjoyed working with him. Highly recommended!

— Allan Morrison

Andrew Hodgdon and The Multihull Company are really professional! I just closed a deal with them, and everything was pretty smooth. Andrew was punctual, showed a lot of expertise, and he was honest about all the problems with the boat. He is also giving me the support I need to run all the projects on this boat. This whole process was much better than I was expecting, and I recommend this team! Thank you, Andrew.

— Gustavo Machado

The multihull company, specifically Andrew Hodgson worked with me in the sale of Gods Grace, a 50’ Voyage 500. They made sure that as many people as possible touched it, laid hands on it, ultimately resulting in a offer and sale and was extremely helpful in the prep and sale process as I did not live locally… If you want to make sure that people actually see your vessel, will be honest and truly assist you in the sale, Andrew is the man for the job.
