Riley Dunn’s journey from the inland city of Florence, South Carolina, to the coastal waters of California and beyond has been a testament to his passion for sailing and maritime life. While vacationing in Charleston, he discovered the thrill of sailing the harbor, and exploring the Atlantic down to the Bahamas.
Upon graduating with a degree in Psychology from the University of South Carolina, Riley embarked on a professional journey that would merge his academic background with his seafaring passion. He set his sights on obtaining his captain’s license, determined to turn his love for sailing into a career. Embracing the opportunity to work at a boatyard, Riley immersed himself in all aspects of marine craftsmanship.
With years of hands-on experience under his belt, Riley transitioned seamlessly into teaching, becoming a prominent figure in the American Sailing Association. Recognized as a three-time American Sailing Outstanding Instructor, Riley’s dedication to imparting his knowledge and passion for sailing to others has earned him widespread acclaim.
Drawing on his experience managing a fleet of boats in Charleston, his intimate understanding of vessels, coupled with his keen insight into the needs and preferences of his clients, has made him a trusted advisor in the maritime community.
Today, Riley Dunn continues to navigate the waters with a sense of purpose and adventure, embracing each new opportunity to share his love for sailing with others and furthering his lifelong connection to the sea.

I’ve used The Multihull Company to list and sell two catamarans in the past year and they have been excellent to work with. The first cat was a vessel (42 Lagoon) I had released from my charter company. We had som difficulties during the sale process with the buyer finalizing the purchase and TMC handled things beautifully and we were able to close as expected. The second, a 1997 Island Packet Cat, they were able to attract multiple potential buyers, in a fairly short period of time, and just before our sailing season ended here in Michigan. Andrew Hodgdon at The Multihull Company was instrumental in our recent boat purchase. Andrew’s experience with performance catamarans was a key reason why we were comfortable and his straightforward communication style was very much appreciated when so much is at stake. We had a very fast viewing to close timeline on the other side of the country and Andrew always took our calls and responded quickly even with time differences which mattered a lot. We’re very happy with the outcome and Andrew played a crucial role.
I chose Zee (Zvonimir Kalinic) after posting an ad for a broker on Yacht Sales from about 15 other brokers because he showed professionalism and care right away compared to the others. Most of the brokers never intended to show people my boat but yet somehow expected to collect commission. Zee met me in Novigrad and spent 3 hours taking photos and drone footage and throughout the listing period was communicating continuously and advising me about any offers that came through. His service was at a high standard that I was extremely happy with and felt comfortable at all times especially since I’m in Sydney and my boat is in Montenegro. I can’t recommend Zee highly enough to anyone looking to sell their boat with peace of mind.
