About
Jennie is a 42' Jefferson Sundeck with one queen size stateroom, one double stateroom and adjoining dry heads. The aft cabin head is a shower/bath combo and the front cabin head is a separate shower only. She will sleep 6 when the saloon couch is converted into a bed. She has a lower galley and plenty of storage throughout the boat. We bought Jennie in January of 2023, with the plan to do the Great Loop. We spent the next 10 months getting her ready of the trip. On the outside, we added new enclosures and sunshades for the back and enclosures for the flybridge, rail curtains in the front, replaced all buoys, lines, and throw ring, rebuilt the swim platform, added davits, and had the bottom redone including blister work and new paint. We replaced the foam in all outdoor cushions, and added four solar panels, 60 A solar charge controller, and 3000 W off-grid inverter DC 24V to AC 120V. On the inside we updated the galley with a new backsplash and subway tile walls. We had custom cushions made for the couch in the saloon, updated shower curtains in both heads, and added mosquito netting on all doors and windows. All safety issues stated in the survey were addressed, fire extinguishers and smoke/carbon monoxide alarms replaced, most original hoses were replaced, and new water pump, pressure tank and bilge pump have been installed. Both toilets and hoses have been replaced with Johnson Electric toilets. Engines have been inspected, maintained and a new starter was put on the port engine. We replaced the cranking batteries with two Diehard Heavy Duty 1750 amp batteries. In November life changed and instead of the Great Loop, we drove her to South Florida from Northern Alabama. She was a beast and easily handled anything that was thrown her way for the 1500 mile, 15 lock trip. Now that we are in South Florida, we are wanting to move to a sailing catamaran and do some island hopping.
The multihull company, specifically Andrew Hodgson worked with me in the sale of Gods Grace, a 50’ Voyage 500. They made sure that as many people as possible touched it, laid hands on it, ultimately resulting in a offer and sale and was extremely helpful in the prep and sale process as I did not live locally… If you want to make sure that people actually see your vessel, will be honest and truly assist you in the sale, Andrew is the man for the job.
Andrew Hodgdon always goes above and beyond. After several transactions I wouldn’t work with anyone else in the industry.
Andrew at the Multihull Company was our buyer’s broker and he was excellent to work with. He thoroughly explained the purchase process, and helped with many questions along the way. We would definitely use Andrew and Multihull again to buy and sell catamarans and yachts.
We had a great purchasing experience with The Multihull Company. Got us into the boat we really wanted, our broker Josie was amazing, she walked us through the entire process, negotiated the deal we wanted and gave us great advice throughout. If you are looking to purchase a boat we can’t recommend them enough.
