About
Go Small, Go NOW!
Your opportunity to own a rare Edel 33 fractional sloop rigged catamaran. It is a unique design from the French team of Maurice Edel and Sylvester Langevin, built in the Edel shipyard in France. Production of this model started in 1985 and ended in 1988, after focus had shifted to the Edel 35. A previous owner (UK, deceased) believed this boat was launched in 1989.
This is not a bloated cat with extra-wide hulls, but a fast cat with small windage, a rather shallow draft, and a proportionally wide beam. The central saloon roof raises to allow standing height inside (and excellent 360 air flow), but can be closed while sailing to allow for great visibility from the helm without the sloping bubble of a too large roof blocking all the view. The most unusual feature of this design is the layout with separately accessed accommodations in the hulls and bridge deck saloon. These three separate parts are divided by two protected walkways, allowing safe access fore and aft. There is no need to crab walk forward dangerously close to flimsy lifelines or to climb over a sloping cabin top, the walkways are wide, safe, and inboard of each hull. The boat has a shallow draft, so she can get enter some hard to reach spaces and anchor close to shore.
She is lightweight, so when the anchor is set she doesnt drag. This boat has the capacity to explore every nook and cranny of any island coast.
Multihull Company did a great job with advertising and selling our boat. Also with the closing and documentation work. Highly recommend them and our broker, Dunbar Lewis.
Great service in buying my first boat, Chris and the team really helped by going the extra mile! I recommend them for anyone looking for a new or used boat.
My wife and I worked with Andrew Hodgdon to sell our 2021 FP Elba 45. In addition to skillfully carrying out the traditional yacht broker responsibilities, Andrew went above-and-beyond to ensure that we were well-positioned to sell in a competitive market. For example, Andrew helped out with much-appreciated repairs and hurricane prep, among other things. Trustworthy, intelligent, and conscientious, Andrew’s communications with us and the buyer were always thoughtful and forward-thinking, and fairly represented our interests.
Successful relationships cannot exist without it. At The Multihull Company we base every relationship on a firm commitment to earning and retaining our client’s trust.
