About
Silver Girl is the catamaran that got it all started at Balance Catamarans in 2010. She was the first of the new 60 footers designed for expeditionarysurfing charters in Indonesia. She was designed to be fast, carry high underwing clearance, and have enormous range under power, requiring significant fuel storage capacity.
After her launch, she ended up heading to the Caribbean, not Indonesia as initially envisioned, and after a few years was sold to an East Coast couple who bought her to successfully sail around the world in the World ARC. After completing that life-long dream they sold her.
Silver Girl is an all epoxy, carbon fiber reinforced, foam core performance cat. She is, of all things, however, a Balanced cat. She is designed to be easy to operate, to care for, and offers a superb Balance of performance, payload capacity and space. We recently launchedthe last of the Balance 601's this past year, to be replacedby the new Balance 620.
It would take hours to explain and go over all of the upgrades and equipment she carries. Suffice it to say that if you go over her full specs listing you will see that she is extensively equipped for global voyaging and off-the-grid living. She has been constantly upgraded and cared for and whenever something was worn out or needed her owners have always gone ahead and done it. Our careful listing notes these upgrades and refits.
Silver Girl is currently in the U.S. Virgin Islands, but will likely be sailing state-side in the near future. To organize a showing please contact us in advance for careful planning as she may move at any time. Here is a very special Adventure Cat for the discriminating sailor who wants to go places safely and swiftly, a proven thoroughbred performance voyager.
Dear Cynthia and Andrew,
I wanted to extend my sincere thanks to both of you and The Multihull Company team for the outstanding job you did in successfully closing the sale of our Excess 14. Despite the challenging environment — including new import tariffs and unique buyer requirements — you navigated everything with professionalism, perseverance, and efficiency.
The transaction was completed smoothly and in good time, which is a true credit to your dedication and expertise. Very well done.
Thank you again, and I wish you all the very best.
Warm regards,
Jurgen
We had an outstanding experience working with Andrew Hodgdon. From the very beginning, he demonstrated deep knowledge of the catamaran we were considering and took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for. He found us the perfect vessel that matched our needs and budget and negotiated a fantastic deal on our behalf.
What truly set him apart was he responsiveness—every question we had was answered promptly and thoroughly, and he guided us through the entire process with professionalism and care. We couldn’t be happier with the service and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and dedicated yacht broker.
Awesome company that worked as my brokerage on purchasing out FP catamaran. A special shoutout to Will Miller for walking us through the process
The process of selling our boat was made very smooth by the Multihull Company and Andrew Hodgdon in particular. Andrew helped us navigate the selling process including moving our boat from Grenada to Florida to execute the sale. We would recommend working with this company, and Andrew Hodgdon in particular, without hesitation.
