Construction Process

The tooling for the molds were produced from a computerized 5-axis router and the entire shell consists of only 3 molds:

  • 1stmold is both inner/outer hull sections along with the bridge deck is one mold enabling the laminating to be completed in one process to save weight as well as all fibers being integral.
  • All thru hulls below and above the waterline as well as the escape hatches are in a monolithic sold laminate to prevent water migration into the core.
  • 2ndmold is the deck and coachroof incorporating not only the non-skid surfaces but also the toe rail and drainage for all flush mounted deck hatches.
  • All male stainless stanchion bases are installed into a monolithic solid laminate with the brass stanchion bolt below deck encapsulated in sold resin.
  • All deck hatches are mounted in a solid laminate and Bruynzeel resin saturated laminate is used for mounting winches, rope clutches, blocks, tracks, and other related hardware.
  • 3rdmold is the composite hardtop bimini which is a seamless extension of the coachroof

The entire structure is resin-infused using Vinylester resin, bi-axial and tri-axial fiberglass cloth cored with Corecell SAN foam, and 1,200+ meters of unidirectional carbon fiber at all load-lines for structural strength.

  • Deck to hull joint laminated to form a monocoque shell for added rigidness and eliminate any water migration
  • Foam-filled water-tight bow stems for impact resistance, plus 3 additional successive forward crash boxes rising 60 cm (2 ft) above the waterline
  • Closed cell foam bulkheads laminated to the hulls with carbon fiber
  • Molded GRP fuel and water tanks located midship in each hull for added rigidness and added protection from a hard grounding as well as centralizing considerable weight
  • All exterior/interior AISI 316L high-grade stainless is custom fabricated and highly polished eliminating all welds
  • Fixed hull & salon windows in tinted laminated glass
  • Cockpit sliding door & window in tinted laminated glass framed in stainless
  • Choice of white or gray hull gel coat (applied by hand not sprayed)

This Slyder 50 is offered in owner version. the interior is tailored to the highest standard with all wood interiors cored with Balsa and beautifully constructed using various wood species and in a very contemporary design. All galley appliances and interior fixtures are of the same yacht quality as one would expect in a highly finished yacht.

All furniture is real wood veneers of various species and cored with Balsa for lightness. Large selection of soft goods for ceilings and hulls.
