About

Over the years, we've loved Maine Cat 41's for their open bridgedeck with hard top and full enclosure for great ventilation, excellent visibility and the ability to close it all up for weather.

Owner has authorized a $30,000 price reduction, and McElbeau is now available for only $349,900!  Call now and you can be sailing in the tropics this winter.

McElbeau was built by Maine Cat and Dick Vermeulen. She's been actively sailed from New England to Florida and to the Bahamas. She's well maintained with many recent upgrades.

MC 41's exhibit a good turn of speed and generally outsail the basic charter cats we've become accustomed to.

She's got twin diesel Yanmar engines, Autopilot, Color GPS chartplotter, radar, AIS and VHF radios (2) with RAM Mic. She has a bowsprit to run her Screecher Sail and the Spinnaker. She has BRAND NEW Fully battened Mainsail (9/22) and Stackpack (9/22) with Lazy Jacks. Flexofold Props, Great ground tackle, excellent power system including large solar panel array and large Firefly battery bank, electric windlass and she's even got an electric winch, for easy and short handed sailing.

She points high when going to windward with her twin daggerboards down and flies on a broad reach with boards up.

Her interior accommodations are excellent with the starboard hull as owner's suite with massive owners berth, and port hull has a well equipped galley with an equally large VIP berth. She has two marine heads with owners side walk in shower compartment plus crew berth.

If you are looking for a well equipped, well cared for and easy to sail shallow draft vessel with a good turn of speed that will be perfect for warm weather sailing and can handle the cooler northern waters once the salon is buttoned up with her almost new Strataglass enclosure, you owe it to yourself to check out our 2005 Maine Cat 41.

She's in Deltaville Virginia and can be seen by appointment. Don't let this one get away. Call now!

Accommodations

The Maine Cat 41 sports a large bridgedeck and open cockpit. This is the center of action on the MC 41.

Generous seating aft to port and starboard, and dinette table forward which converts to a queen berth for alfresco sleeping under the screened in salon, or within the confines of the isinglass full enclosure. Two “mate” seats, one to port and the other to starboard and large centrally located helm with large double seat and full controls/instrumentation.

Yachts twice this size cannot boast a cockpit and entertainment area of this size. Well appointed with overhead lights on dimmer switch and courtesy lights at the foot well throughout the cockpit.

To port is a well appointed galley with propane oven and stove, refrigerator and huge freezer. Outboard is a double sink with H/C pressure water. Tremendous storage throughout. Microwave oven included.

Forward is a large queen size berth, full head with shower forward and additional private cabin with large single berth forward.

Starboard hull is the owner’s suite and has large head (with Raritan Elegance Electric Toilet system) aft with walk-in separate shower fully aft. Amidships is seating area, cabinet storage with large queen size owner’s berth. Forward is Navigation area/desk with wood shelving. Fully forward is a private large, single berth which converts to an aft facing seat.

Total sleeping accommodations for 8. The Maine Cat 41 is the only production-built cruising catamaran in the world that provides outstanding sailing and motoring performance, huge payload capacity (7200 pounds) and a unique open bridgedeck design that transforms the entire bridgedeck area into a protected pilothouse. The unique open bridgedeck design is simply a better solution than the typical “floating condo” cat bridegdeck cabin arrangement, and provides superior visibility from the helm with exceptional ventilation throughout the main salon platform. Headroom throughout; 6’8″ minimum.

Your team delivered on every mark. You’ve got an amazing broker in Mark Wattrus and I’m confident you will have continued success moving forward together. He was available 24/7 whenever I had questions. We had a great initial visit on the boat and his marketing plan and photos were superb

— Jimmy

I bought a yacht that I had never seen. I did this because I trusted my broker Andrew Holland. It was not an easy job for Andrew, as I am an experienced boat builder and owner of previous yachts, but work in West Africa. Imagine how hard it was to communicate what I was looking for. Andrew came up with exactly what I wanted. He dealt with time delays, all my questions at odd hours, and was there for the survey. He reported honestly and professionally. After buying the yacht, I arrived at the boat on a Sunday night, after dark, after travelling from West Africa to the Caribbean, and found it was better than expected. He never pulled punches and made me aware of shortfalls. I expected to spend my one month leave working on the boat, but actually spent less than one week, and was able to spend 3 weeks sailing – wonderful bonus.

Thank you Andrew for putting up with all my questions, all my worries and all my crazy out of the time zone concerns – you were totally professional, but also I know that if and when we meet up, it will be like a friend finally meeting. You are always welcome on Aseka.

Outstanding company with professional subject matter experts. If I were to buy or sell cruising sailboat, particularly a catamaran, Andrew would be my go to broker.

— JT

I have been sailing since I was a child and attended Massachusetts Maritime Academy. But when my wife and I began the process of purchasing an ocean cruising/racing catamaran, I realized that this is a world unto itself. Obviously, we needed to find someone knowledgeable to help us make an informed decision. More importantly, we needed someone honest and willing to put our interests before his or her own. I was lucky to work with Phil Berman at The Multihull Company. He repeatedly shunned the fast buck, choosing instead to work the long road to connect us with the “perfect boat”. I would be glad to recommend Phil and his company to anyone planning to purchase or sell a performance sailing machine.

— Eric Boutiette

Andrew Hodgdon was our broker when we bought our 2018 Lagoon 450F in Antigua in April 2922. He provided great service and was very attentive to our needs. We would highly recommend Andrew and the Multihull Company.
