BLISS III, a Dean 5000, is a very unique and beautiful Rudolf Jonker design with an unusual and distinctive arch along the stern.ย This design was introduced in 2010 at the La Rochelle boat show with a short production run as this South African builder ,Dean, went out of business in 2013.ย It is a solidly built, comfortable and luxurious blue water ocean going catamaran, Cat A, capable of extended passages anywhere around the world.
Xquisite Yachts now build a modified Dean 5000 design called the X5 at a different yard in South Africa (Phoenix Marine).ย Xquisite Yachts are rapidly gaining brand strength and their X5 cats are a high end build with extraordinary quality.
BLISS III is hull number 3 of the Dean 5000 boats and comes to the market as an exceedingly well equipped boat.ย She may even eclipse some of the newer X5 boats in terms of equipment and extras.ย Her present owners are the third and have invested extensively in their boat. Immediately upon purchase in 2020 the boat underwent a comprehensive refit which included re- building the engines, adding a new Whisper Power genset, upgrading all boat systems, applying new Awlgrip Yacht paint on hulls and wing as well as new gelcoat and non-skid surfaces, refinishing all the interior with new coverings and teak counter tops and so much more..
BLISS III boasts so many new inventory items:ย new standing rigging, new high roach mainsail, new lithium batteries, full digital control and monitoring system and a long list of new electronic navigation gear to name but a few.โฆ
BLISS III has sailed halfway around the world and has proven to be stable in all kinds of seas, winds and currents.ย She also sails well in light winds, with its beautiful and efficient ParaSailor foresail.
At sea, her energy requirements are met by the new 2000 A-h LIFePO4 battery banks as well as the new solar panels, the wind generator and the Watt & Sea 600 hydro-generator.

The interior of BLISS III has a stunning fit and finish.ย Constant upgrades and renewals have maintained the boat in an almost as-new condition and this is discernible in her interior and exterior.ย All bulkhead and deckhead linings were replaced in 2020.ย All hull windows have new fitted window coverings (2023). Goiot shade/mosquito screens on deck hatches (recessed in saloon, surface mount in hulls) โ new from 2021. ย Mosquito screens for all ports.
All settees are new red leather upholstered (2021).ย Lighting throughout is LED with additional red courtesy lightsย and ambient strip lighting.ย The same lighting style is repeated in the cockpit, where life aboard is shared with the saloon.
Relax in style to watch the 43 inch 3D LED flatscreen on an electro-mechanical lift system and enjoy sounds via the Bose soundbar with subwoofer in the saloon, additional speakers in cockpit.
Three air-conditioning units cool the whole interior complete with Breathe Easy air purifiers.ย There is even a mist system in the cockpit !ย When itโs time to cook you may choose a gas or electric induction oven.ย A dishwasher and a washer/dryer add yet more to your comfort aboard.
BLISS III is an owner’s version cat, the whole starboard hull dedicated as such.ย The port hull has two double cabins, each with its own en-suite bathroom.
