2019 Catana 53 Owner Version

About This Boat

Catana catamarans require no introduction in the world of performance, bluewater cats. They have set the standard for the optimum combination of performance, quality of construction, comfort, interior volume and resale value for four decades.

The Catana 53 model was introduced in 2017 and over a dozen units have been built. This "like new" Catana 53 (hull 5) is just spectacular - full of premium options and it bears the distinction of having the highest specification rig and sails installed on any of these units: high modulus carbon mast, carbon boom, carbon longeron, carbon crossbeam and martingale, Kevlar shrouds, carbon dagger-boards and a gorgeous membrane sail inventory. The foretriangle includes a genoa on a fixed roller furler and three sails on loose luff continuous furlers: solent, code 0 and code D. The ultimate toolkit for the short handed sailor who chooses to sail the full range of conditions.

Catana is now producing only one or two units per year of this 53 model, so this is a rare opportunity on the market. Why wait several years for a new one or 3 to 5 years at the other performance cat yards. Here is a chance to buy a turn key cat with very little use (340 hours on the twin 75 HP Volvo engines) and an outstanding performance specification.

Of course, this cat has all the comfort equipment and amenities to round out the superb sailing kit: 8 KVA generator, solar array, lithium batteries, large watermaker, full air-conditioning and heating.

Check out the complete specification below which details the numerous upgrades and options, over 350 detail photos and walk through video that I recently shot in Italy.

  • Owner version: 3 cabins/3 showers/2 heads + 1 crew cabin with head and shower.
  • Engines and sail drives: twin Volvo 75HP, 5 year Volvo warranty through 2024, 340 engine hours.
