About This Boat

Are you looking for a big safe stable catamaran to transport your family to The Bahamas, Caribbean or around the world? Look no further!

This catamaran is not to be confused with later Lagoon models that were designed for the mass charter market, she is a very fine semi-custom, strong sailing yacht built to very high standards and it shows.

The ground breaking design and style of these Lagoons changed the luxury catamaran market when they were launched, no expense spared with real wood interiors, carbon fibre/kevlar re-inforcement and put together by real craftsmen, 23 years later they still turn heads with their classic lines and stunning sailing performance.

As the previous Captain/Engineer of this boat I personally undertook a large refit of this amazing boat in 2018 including new hull to deck joint fastenings in stainless steel, custom teak toe rail fabrication, complete hull re-finish in Awlgrip "Snow White", custom fabrics and sail covers, new upgraded Yanmar D-4JH5T turbo engines and SD50 sail-drives in 2012 serviced yearly, contact me directly with all your questions, maintained with an open checkbook, lots of maintenance history and photos available.

This catamaran motors on one engine at 8 knots @2500 rpm and 10 knots with both engines that 240 miles per day range, under sail she will easily make 7 knots in 15 knots of apparent and 10-12 knots SOG is not unusual when the wind blows, she is very nicely set up for single handing with a big Harken electric winches at the mast and in the cockpit, nice modern Raymarine suite of electronics and a brand new reconditioned Northern Lights 12kw generator.

Meet 'Ad Astra', a legendary Lagoon 57. From the famed VPLP stable, the 57 is a fast and robustly built ocean cruiser, yet with a high degree of comfort and luxury for all onboard. Beautifully finished, 'AdAstra' has benefitted from frequent upgrades and refits. Please refer to her full specifications, to see all that has been done.

New in 2021

  • Northern Lights 12kw Generator NL M843NW3
  • 1420 solar panels
  • 2x Victron Solar controllers with 'bluetooth
  • Rocna 40 Primary Anchor
  • New 2019 Zar mini 13ft tender with 25hp Yamaha 2 stroke outboard
  • Water maker, full air conditioning throughout, recent hardtop, Code 0, spinnaker, fresh paint job and many recent upgrades, are but a few of this appealing yacht's features.

'Ad Astra' has operated in the Caribbean, for a number of years, as a very successful crewed charter yacht. Her professional full-time crew have maintained her to a high degree, as is to be expected of a high-end charter vessel. Whilst she would make for a superb world voyager, she could just as easily re-enter the luxury crewed charter market, currently family owned who's situation has changed and she is very reluctantly for sale again.
