We had a fabulous weekend with Jeff Bowen. My family and I loved the trip and found him to be an excellent host. The first day we sailed in a good Galveston Bay-type chop, with winds 15-20, gusting to 25. The boat was incredibly stable and fun to sail. We passed several monohulls and heard that some had a tough trip crossing the bay while we had an amazingly easy time. This was the first time I'd sailed on a catamaran, and I found it a lot easier and gentler to sail than the racing trimaran I used to crew on. The second day was light wind, only 5-10 and often I think less than that. We had trouble tacking due to light wind, and got a lot of experience backfilling the jib. Thanks, Jim |
