TMC and Cruising World Sponsor “Hands Across The Sea” Jump Up Party at The Annapolis Boat Show on Saturday, October 11th At 5 pm

Derek Escher

Enjoy Caribbean Music, Speak with Tom and Harriet Linsky about their Non-Profit Organization and See the Ocean Cruising Dolphin 460

On Saturday, October 11th,  meet Tom and Harriet Linsky at the “Hands Across the Sea Jump Up” to learn all about the Hands Across the Sea team. See the Dolphin 460 and learn about their non-profit organization that sails to provide educational materials to schools that need a helping hand. Ask the couple about their tremendous journey this past year. They quit their jobs, sold their house and started their non-profit foundation, leaping with both feet into full time blue water cruising on their new Brazilian-built Dolphin 460 catamaran. So far they’ve travelled from Brazil through the Caribbean and all the way to Maine.

Please join us in supporting their Hands Across the Sea Projects for 2008. They are focused on three Caribbean school-based projects.  Would you like to help?  Please review the link below and let Harriet and Tom know if you have any ideas, suggestions, connections or would like to make a donation. They accept donations of items on their wish lists that will be available at the party or cash donations that will be used towards the purchase of items on the lists. Items will be shipped to the schools and then Tom and Harriet follow up in person when they return to the Caribbean in November 2008. For more information and details on their travels, read the “hands log” newsletter by following this link…

Cruising World judges award Catana 50 as the Best Cruising Multilhull for 2008

Aricle
"TMC Congratulates Buyer Clients, Jim and Adean Bridges, on their 6-page Article in Cruising World’s September 2008 Issue – Catana 50: A Couple’s Quest"

Author Mark Pillsbury of Cruising World takes a sail aboard Jim and Adean Bridges’ Jadimean, a new Catana 50, and tests the marketing claims that describe the boat as perfectly sized for a couple. The outcome was simple: “it depends to a large extent on how the boat’s sailed and on the skipper’s ability to use his or her wits and available equipment, rather than muscles, to keep order when under way.” The article goes on to explain Jim and Adean’s sailing experiences and the trials and tribulations of new boat ownership. There is a great description of the Catana’s features and the article is peppered with quotes from Cruising World’s Boat of the Year judges like Steve Callahan – “if your plan is to take off cruising with friends and you want a platform that’s big, fast and ocean capable, the Catana is all of that. After spending a day and night with Jim and Adean, I’d say it works for them.”
