Custom Cross Trimaran Pilot House Ketch - “Bananas ”

Custom Cross Trimaran Pilot House Ketch - “Bananas ”

This is a large seagoing trimaran with half the world in her wake. She has sailed from England to South Africa and then across the Atlantic & Caribbean through Panama to the South Pacific, Hawaii, and Alaska. She features a marvelous pilothouse. It yields 360 degree views from the comfort of a spring loaded helmseat with all controls instruments at hand. The co-pilot gets a dedicated seat too. Crew can easily step through the sliding pilothouse side doors into the trimming cockpits on either side to adjust the ketch rig. Everything is easily at hand for most maneuvers without leaving the safety of these cockpits. Then step back into the pilothouse and enjoy the views from the pilothouse dinette during crossings or while harborwatching in an anchorage. The offwatch crew can relax in the pilothouse quarterberth and be immediately at hand. The 50 hp Lehman engine is completely accessible beneath the well insulated sole of the pilothouse. This gives marvelous access to all sides of the engine and all its systems. Repairs and maintenance on the engine can be accomplished from the comfort and safety of the pilothouse with all tools and resources immediately at hand. There is so much voyaging boat here and we haven't even left the pilothouse yet. Go below and find a complete galley, navigation station, another dinette, lounge space, 4 private cabins, 3 heads. All fitted out with serious seagoing intent. She's in a great place with all of the trades and tools at hand to refit and then head out to see the rest of the world.

Design & Accommodations

This is an expansive trimaran. She combines a great deal of deck space and large living quarters with an easily managed ketch rig, weatherly wing keel and the advantages of an easily driven pilothouse diesel with tremendous range under power.

The pilothouse can be entered from astern or from either exterior cockpit amidships. It provides for completely protected vessel operation and has an offwatch berth, captain's chairs, and a day dinette with a panoramic view. Forward from the pilothosue is the navigation station on starboard and the galley on port. Then forward again to a second more private dinette and seating.
