“Pearly” is a classic wing-aka Val trimaran from the board of legendary trimaran designer Dick Newick. She was built by Larry Cooley in Massachusetts, USA in 1981. She received major refits in 1996 and again in 2004. “Pearly” has completed a single-handed crossing of the Atlantic ocean and is currently located on the island of Sardinia in the Mediterranean. Her current owner has sailed “Pearly” from 2000 to 2005 in the vicinity of Corsica and Sardinia. He is selling “Pearly” to purchase a larger Newick trimaran.

“Pearly” offers sparkling performance on all points of sail and, as the owner puts it, she has accommodations for “2 couples in love”. She has a folding salon table, a 12 volt portable refrigerator, a bucket head and a solar shower. She is very dry inside and out, even at speed.

If you’re interested in a classic Newick trimaran and want to experience the “Val whiplash” acceleration for yourself, “Pearly” could be for you. While she’s no floating palace, she’s easy to maintain and her sailing performance won’t disappoint.
