The Multihull Company Trinidad, located at The Catmaran Village in Chaguaramas (a 14,572-acre National park composed of a peninsula and attending archipelago of offshore islands, only 20 minutes by car from Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago’s capital) is an ideal location for you to place your catamaran for sale, have repairs made or to store your boat on the hard. Located seven miles off the coast of Venezuela, well outside of the hurricane belt, Trinidad is one of the Caribbean’s safest harbors.
Multihull Company Associate Broker Gordon Forbes splits his time between this office and Spice Island Marina in Grenada and can assist clients travelling to Grenada or Trinidad with any requests.
Gordon began his professional career in 1966 as a pilot for BWIA, the largest airline operating out of the Caribbean, piloting Boeing 727’s and 707’s, accruing a total of 18,000 flying hours in his years of service. Despite the amount of time he spent in the air, Mr. Forbes always found the time to sail extensively through the Windward Islands on his Lagoon 42, “Delphini”. Having sailed since the age of twelve and wanting to begin a new chapter in his life after retiring from BWIA, Gordon completed a course in marine surveying at the SUNY Maritime Collegein New York in order to pursue a professional life in the maritime industry. After completion, he worked as a contract surveyor for Tsunami Marine Ltd under the guidance of long-time Naval Architect Courtney Lange.
"Having done pre-purchase surveys for clients of The Multihull Company as a surveyor and noting the high standard of professionalism and integrity that TMC brings to the table, it is an honor for me to represent the company as an agent in the Windward Islands inclusive of Trinidad & Tobago,” Gordon noted at the time he began working with The Multihull Company. “I believe my experiences as a catamaran owner, surveyor, and pilot come into play in work as a yacht broker, and I enjoy sharing my expertise with buyers and sellers of multihulls.”
In addition to brokerage, TMC is proud to be able to offer a full service experience while you are in Trinidad. The Multihull Company at The Catamaran Village offers brokerage, hauling and launching/security storage 24/7, fiberglass repair, osmosis treatment, interior refurbishments, electrical repairs, air conditioning and refrigeration repairs, water makers, generators, solar energy and so much more thanks to its long-standing relationship with master catamaran builder Philippe Richard.
Originally from France, Philippe runs Catamaran Village, the premier catamaran repair and refurbishing center in the Caribbean. Originally he remodeled the interior of homes, but his passion for designing and refurbishing yachts led him to a new beginning in Trinidad in1998. Philippe is an expert on every facet of a Multihull and since Aikane is a haven for sailors during hurricane season he is familiar with every brand of Multihull available today. Philippe believes in the well-being of people so he will go out of his way to make sure that his clients are completely satisfied. Technical excellence coupled with excellent communication and people skills makes Philippe an invaluable asset to The Multihull Company team.
