First off, boats require power — a lot of power — and there is no option for a grid connection. Secondly, the power they use varies tremendously throughout the day. Underway and driving into the wind or through heavy seas, they may well consume thousands to millions of watts. Once at anchor, that can drop to just a few hundred watts or less.
