L'ABSOLU 50 est né de la rencontre d'un passioné de catamaran Pascal Hauet et d'un architecte spécialiste des catamarans et des navigations extrêmes Christophe Barreau. Leur collaboration a débuté avec le projet ONE OFF 45 construit en deux exemplaires chez Catana en 1998. L'ABSOLU 50 est l'extrapolation de ce projet avec d'avantage de volume, mais conservant la simplicité de conception. Les moules ont été réalisés en Pologne puis rapatriés pour une production à Lorient dans le chantier Catlantech de Dominique Marsaudon.

From the drawing board of the famed French design team, Van Peteghem/Lauriot-Prevost, comes the Horizon 50.
