Charters - Booking Procedure


 1.Choose a Catamaran Yacht from The Multihull Company. Working with The Multihull Company, choose the yacht that best suits you and your guests. You can contact us via e-mail or phone and we can get this process started for you.

2.Check Availability. If you opt to make your choices online, call us or e-mail us to check availability for your desired dates and destination of travel. This is important as the yachts book up very quickly during high season.

3.Working Hold. If the dates are available and the you are ready to book yet waiting for some final details, The Mulithull Company will place a so-called “working hold” on the yacht for your preferred dates. As soon as we place this hold on the yacht, you have two weeks for crewed yachts and 48hours for bareboats in which to settle your final details and send your deposit to reserve the charter. However, please be aware that another charter party can challenge you on crewed charters for these dates. If that happens, you will have only 48 hours from the time of the “challenge” to secure your reservation with a deposit. As we have said, the high season is highly competitive for the yachts and top crews. Because we are a well-respected company, we are given some leeway here, but you must still recognize that the fast-moving market place requires a commitment at some point to secure the yacht.

4.Deposit. Even if you make your selection more than six months in advance we will need a 25% deposit to hold the yacht. Another  25% is due at the six-month mark. If you book within six months of the charter start The Multihull Company we collect  50% of the charter fee to confirm your charter. The Multihull Company accepts credit cards with a processing fee, bank wire transfer, personal check or certified check.The Multihull Company maintains international banking accounts and relationships at Morgan Stanley / Smith Barney in order to accept currencies of all nations.

5. Charter Agreement and Preference Forms. We will e-mail you a Yacht Charter Agreement to sign and Preferences Form to fill in for crewed charters. The preference forms help us match you with the right yacht and crew. In addition, they help us ensure your meals and beverages are just what you want. For a bareboat we will e-mail you the required sailing resume form and other charter documents. Mail, e-mail or fax those back to us as soon as possible. Fax Number 215-508-2706

 6.Captain or Bareboat Company Signs Charter Agreement. At this stage, the charter documents are forwarded to the yacht captain or bareboat company we have all agreed is right for you. We make sure that you receive a signed copy and any other information you need. The Multihull Company actively manages this process and your charter representative will be available to help you through this process at all times. Our firm’s standing in the yachting community ensures that you are working with the most respected professionals.

7.Confirmation. When your deposit clears the bank you will receive a confirmation number by e-mail from your charter representative. At this point, your charter is officially reserved. Congratulations!

8.Crew or Bareboat Company Contact. Prior to your vacation,the crew of your chosen yacht will contact you to discuss your meal and activities preferences, and itinerary. It is important that they reach out to you and personalize every element of your trip. It is as important to the crew as it is to you that your vacation comes off without a hitch. If you are chartering a bareboat, the company will contact you as needed.

9.Final Payment. Most crewed and bareboat yachts require final payment to be made 45-60 days prior to departure by any of the methods described above. The Multihull Company representative will help you navigate this process at every step.

10.Booking. When you book your yacht, you may want to make flight arrangements and hotel reservations especially if you intend to arrive early.
