Following Tides is a Switch 51 I know very well, as she was ordered new from our company and I joined her on the delivery from Gibraltar to Annapolis, where she was our show boat in 2002 at the boat show. We sailed her into Bermuda right through the teeth of Hurricance Dean after the hurricane was downgraded to a tropical storm. Under double reefed mainsail and sailing on a small solent into 30 to 40 knot winds and large seas the boat performed like a star, consistently averaging 12 knots and never once giving us cause for concern.
The Switch 51 is a spacious, performance voyager that has excellent payload capacity, two very large aft master suites, and lovely owner version shower, head, etc. Following Tides has proven her mettle in a wide range of races, and took line honors in the Transcaribe de Passione. That said, she is not a "racing boat" but a very fast and able world voyager. She has been well maintained and consistently upgraded by her current owners, who have been living on her regularly for the past few years. She is turn-key right now for anyone who wants to hop on and go.
