Privilege 45 - “Lagom I ”

Privilege 45 - “Lagom I ”

This Privilege 45 has been extensively refitted for long-distance cruising plans. Unfortunately, the owner has had to change his plans due to health reasons and encourages offers.

Highlights include:

New Westerbeke 55D Diesel Engines
Barriercoated bottom
8KW Diesel Generator
Cockpit Hardtop with Front and Side Curtains
Turnkey Boat

Privilege catamarans have been considered to be among the very best of the French boats for many years. Back in the early 90's, Privilege was the centerpiece of all charter cats, and their boats were strong and elegant. The current owner of this boat selected her based on his research for the perfect boat. In his words:

"There are several virtues that attracted me to the design. She actually has the same layout as the 42 but, being a longer and beamier boat, the cabins and engine rooms are larger than the 42. My wife loves the galley down because it is very workable and has the advantage of not being visible to guests if the dishes are not cleaned right away. The 4-cabin layout is perfect for our family of four because we each have our own cabin to spread out in. We sailed with another couple the summer before last and were able to turn over the starboard side to them for their privacy while we had the port side with the galley and related entertainment amenities.

Other attractions are that the engine rooms can be accessed via the cockpit; you don't have to step out of the cockpit if the conditions are questionable and you don't have to lift an afterstateroom bunk. I searched for a design that had straight drive shafts, not high-maintenance saildrives. The new engines have greater horsepower than the original design and easily push the boat at 8 1/2 to 9 knots. Even into a steep sea she powers through at 8 knots. For a cruising cat, she has fairly fine bow entries that increase performance. The lower profile also reduces windage, not only under sail but at anchor."

The Privilege 45 is a larger version of the popular Privilege 42. The boat has a nacelle cabin, but on this boat, it houses the generator. This boat also has been nearly 100% refitted. The engines have 80 hours! The headliners have been done. At this point Lagom is a refined, comfortable, nearly complete world cruiser. This boat is not to be missed. The perfect buyer for this boat is for someone who wants to be able to go anywhere, and do anything with their boat. It would make a fine charter boat, but is even more ideal as a family cruiser. The boat has great sailing characteristics and excellent live aboard qualities.
