Outremer Light - “Winergie ”

Outremer 50L WINERGIE is a well-known and very well-regarded multihull in the Lesser Antilles. She has been running the waters from Grenada to the BVI for the better part of six years and has made several passages to and from the Eastern Seaboard of the US as well in this time. This is a proven offshore multihull that has been continuously tweaked and upgraded by her live-aboard owner. Whether sailing singlehanded or with a full crew on the Caribbean 1500, this yachtsman leaves nothing to chance. She sports a complete sail wardrobe (2006-2007) that includes a gennaker and symmetrical spinnaker. Her standing rigging was replaced in 2007. Two brand new YANMAR engines (39 HP) were fitted in February 2011 and she received a new 11 foot CARIBE RIB dinghy last year.

This is an Outremer after all, so great care has been given to outfitting her with comfort amenities that are sensitive to weight. A small 5KW NORTHERN LIGHTS generator (1950 hrs) is the heart of a power plant that is smartly complemented by solar panels, a wind generator and two high-output BALMAR alternators. This allows the owner to run air-conditioning in the port hull (18,000 BTU), a 12V SPECTRA watermaker and to keep his fridge and freezer humming at optimum levels. Balance, redundancy and energy autonomy are the key objectives here. This boat loves to hang-out on the hook for weeks at a time!

WINERGIE was just hauled-out in Grenada this August for new bottom paint, anodes and annual maintenance. She will remain on the hard until the end of hurricane season. Check out the extensive refit history in the attached specification. The owner has moved up to a beautiful Outremer 64.
