This Gemini has Mojo. I first encountered her in Turtle Bay during the Baja Haha cruiser's rally. She voyaged down in 2009 and spent a year exploring the Sea of Cortez before returning to her native San Francisco. She is a very practical coastal cruiser with all the gear to do the Haha again. Shallow draft, centerboards, kick-up rudders, and a retractable drive leg make her a good sailing design. Queen sized owner's cabin, 2 twin guest cabins, a large galley, and a comfortable salon make for the best use of space in any small cat. Life aboard is enjoyable.
This Gemini is optioned with the Screecher and bow track and makes excellent progress in the often light and fickle winds encountered off Southern CA and in Mexico. Her 27 hp Westerbeke and Stilette drive leg push her easily and economically at 7.5 knots and the central aft location keeps engine smells and vibration out of the living space. She has a large solar panel on davits to keep the batteries up when moored. If you are in the market for a Gemini, whether cruising to the Baja or shipping her to the Northwest, this opportunity is not to be missed. She is now available for showings in the Bay Area.

Galley Equipment The Gemini 105MC galley features broad counterspace outboard and a second counterspace inboard. The galley is very open and convivial yet out of the flow of traffic. Hot & Cold Pressure Water |
Sails and Rig The 105Mc gets up to speed quickly with her Selden minimal fractional rig with a single adjustable back stays on a 1 ft. crane. This efficient full battened, big head mainsail goes behind the backstay improving drive and reducing heel. The optional 200% roller screacher is mounted on a curved track to enable you to pull it to windward for maximum efficiency. This unique system is a cruisers dream; a spinnaker substitute that can be rolled in and out, as well as the ability to be used for upwind work in light airs. The Gemini 105Mc deck is configured for an anchor pass-through the bowsprit. This enables the 200% roller screecher sail. The base of the 420 square foot sail is mounted on a curved track between the bows. This sail is a cruiser's dream in light air as it can be used on any point of sail. The sail offers an excellent alternative to a spinnaker as the track enables the foot of the sail to be pulled windward on a reach or broad reach. 340 FT2 7.3 oz fully battened Main |
Hull and Deck Equipment Gemini 105MCs benefit from innovative teardrop hulls that provide excellent carrying capacity and efficiency. The sleek cabintop directs wind into the mainsail. Retractable centerboards in each hull provide excellent windward ability and retract when the true wind is behind the beam to eliminate parasitic drag and provide a draft of only 18". Rudders and the steerable driveleg are also retractable to eliminate drag and reduce draft. Centerboards |
Machinery Centerline Mounted Westerbeke 27 HP 30BThree coupled to a Stilette drive leg that is fully steerable in concert with the rudders and retractable for reduced parasitic drag while sailing. This arrangement provides for excellent maneuverability especially with a centerboard deployed. It also has the benefit of eliminating engine related smells and almost all vibration and much noise from the living spaces. |
