Fountaine Pajot Bahia Maestro - “Backbeat ”

Fountaine Pajot Bahia Maestro - “Backbeat ”

Backbeat is a lovingly maintained, highly sought after owner version Fountaine Pajot Bahia Maestro owners version - her entire starboard hull is a massive owner suite. She is a yacht that has been in the TMC family since new, and her entire history is nothing but good stories, good care, and continued investment by her private owners. Over the past two years she has sailed from the Caribbean and across the South Pacific. If you inspect her current full specs inventory you will see that she has just about everything you could possibly want in a cruising cat, and then some. Match all this with her impeccable care and maintenance history and you have a truly turn-key voyaging cat that is ready to set sail for just about anywhere you want to go. She is currently lying in Fidji, sailing around in that general area, and can be shown with advance appointment. Please allow as much time as possible in advance of showing for us to organize, as the owner will not be present to show the boat at all times.

Owner Upgrades

 New bottom paint (Sept. 2010)

Saloon table was professionally cut down about 3 inch’s all round to make the saloon more user friendly which has made a huge difference to its usefulness

Custom adjustable 5 foot ally bowsprit with adjustable dyneema stays added together with a new code zero / screecher running off a continous line furler (led to cockpit). This addition has made a massive difference to her already good sailing characteristics.  The boat can see 8-10 knots on reach in about 14 knots app wind without really trying. Pushing hard the boat can reach speeds of 16 knots.

Reefing arrangement (incl main halyard control) updated so that all reefing can be done from the cockpit singlehanded.  All main luff and leach lines are dyneema.

New 3 seater helm seat manufactured so that up to 3 people can comfortably use the helm space.  It doubles as a massage table.

New (in 2010) 12 foot Flexboat RIB (Brazilian made, extremely good rib) with flat deck, forward locker and step with internal fuel plumbing, 25hp Yamaha enduro (all new dec 10)…this has been one of the most useful changes as the rib will plane with 6 people and their gear on board in a lumpy sea. The rib has also been used to tow 2 boats off a reef in the tuomotos. Able to pull a water skier.

New MPPT solar controller, doubles solar output of the 3 x 130 watt panels

New watermaker membranes x3 Nov 10 incl new LP pump and controls

New forward bimini sides, keeps sun and rain out of the cockpit

New saloon seat covers throughout in ultrasuede (June 2011)

New Toshiba flat screen TV with data port (charting software etc can run on it) and running off sony playstation 3 with bluray

Added another 4D AGM battery to bank so total is now around 1100 amp hours

AIS added to nav instruments

Mainsail and Genoa were serviced in Grenada in Jan this year. The spinnaker and sock still in new condition and works extremely well in light air.

Removed the 220 volt freezer system in port hull, it was extremely inefficient and have replaced with a new 12 volt system. Owner does not use the big 220volt inverter for anything anymore but it’s still on board and wired in.

New spare autopilot linear drive 2011 (never used)

New Link 10 Battery monitor

All new standing rigging in Feb this year…all dyform and tuned by pro maxi cat tuner in martinique

New running rigging Feb this year

Plenty of spares, filters etc etc on board

Replaced all the rudder bushes in March this year

2 x spare air aux air breathing tanks at each emergency escape hatch for emergency use and quick underwater repairs.
