SV Roam is as close to a new, turn-key Dolphin 460 as you could find. Her owner ordered her new and commissioned her in February of 2006. He then sailed her from Brazil with his family to Trinidad and around the Caribbean for another four months. He then arrived in Charleston where he set to work to build his new home and get his children off to college. He has come to see that the demands of his current obligations do not allow him to use Roam nearly enough.

Roam has about every option you can get - large generator, full air conditioning, water maker, single-side-band radio, RIB dinghy, bowsprit and screecher, deck washdown pump, hard top divinicell bimini, teak cockpit table, folding props, Simrad radar, chartplotter, BG autopilot and wind, speed, depth instruments, ice maker, stereo, etc.

Roam is unique in that the owner of the boat decided that he preferred to have a angular salon couch as opposed to semi-circular, so he had a local shipyard reconfigure his salon professionally. It was done to the very highest standards. In addition, the owner of the boat upgraded the thru-hulls and just about anything else he could think of.

One other very special thing about Roam is that the owner of the boat is a tall man and he wanted to make sure he could cook and clean comfortably in the galley. So he had Dolphin custom layout the galley so that the sink and stove are the aft end of the salon, where the heardroom is 4 inches higher than forward. As such, a man up to 6 feet 5 inches tall can very comfortably stand at the galley without a heardroom problem. The steps down to the port hull are now forward of the galley, as opposed to aft. Detailed pictures can be found in this listing.

Roam really is a near-new, almost shrink-wrapped Dolphin 460 with super low hours and use. She is pretty much a new boat to my mind. To learn more about her, please let us know.
